Injustice 2 Has Been Officially Announced & Adds New Faces

Injustice 2

After many 'leaks' Injustice 2 has been officially announced and it looks like Injustice 2 is bringing a lot more than just more combat

Even though some of the thunder was taken away for the announcement of Injustice 2 it is here and hitting just as hard as the "gods" we will get to place into the mix. Or the pit as NetherRealm Studios kept referring things to in the following trailer below. It's probably safe to assume that the term there will play some form role in Injustice 2 when it comes in 2017 for the PS4 and Xbox One. No word on a PC release for the game but given the poor reception of the studios last game on the PC I have a feeling that we won't be seeing it there. At least for now.

Given all of the hype and 'leaks' building up to this Injustice 2 announcement I'll let you get to watching the nice little CGI trailer that has been put together for us. Keep an eye out in it as there are many little things mixed in that will have some form of affect in the game proper. Hopefully you'll catch a few and at least one new face out there…

Injustice 2 — Announce Trailer

Obviously with Injustice 2 there are going to be new characters added into the mix and new places to fight each other. That should have been a given before the fun look at the addition of Super Girl to the mix in the trailer. It does beg the question of how many of the previous characters from the first title will be making the jump over as with Mortal Kombat X not all of them made the full leap. As long as there is a decent roster though I think some of the other features in the game will keep us enthralled and not begging for DLC to be added on.

On top of the new character show here I am going to go on a limb and say you spotted the armor and gear being added onto all of the heroes here. This wasn't some gimmick to make Injustice 2 look even cooler than the trailer does here but during the game we will get to unlock extra gear and outfits for all of our characters. All of which will have some level of impact on the characters mechanics as well as how they look. Details on this are sparse still but as it has been explained one gamer's Batman could be drastically different than another gamer's Batman after only a few matches; at least if they so choose.

“Expanding the DC Universe in games continues to be one of our top priorities, and Injustice 2 showcases amazing gameplay and an original story to bring the characters to life for players,” Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment president David Haddad adds. “NetherRealm Studios is offering fans an experience of customizing and battling with DC’s iconic characters in an entirely new way.”

Not only will our characters look different with this new RPG-like mechanic for Injustice 2 but said choices will also alter the super villains in the game. That should have been a given since we'll be able to play as them as we have in the past but what it also sounds like is that they may be altered in the story mode as well. Don't fully quote me on that as that wasn't directly stated but the wording that came with the new trailer makes it sound that way. It also makes sense if you can bring in your geared up Flash and be fighting an ill-equipped Gorilla Grod it would be a very one sided fight.

While you may not be shocked at the full announcement of Injustice 2 here are you at least hyped from what we've seen and heard thus far? What other characters do you think will make the jump over outside of the obvious ones? Do you think that gear will carry over to the story mode or will it stay only for the arcade and multiplayer modes? Let us know what you think and feel down in the comments. As more on Injustice 2 is revealed we will be there to cover it for you. Be sure to stay tuned into the site here so you don't miss out on one little bit of information.
