Final Fantasy XII is getting a remastered edition which will add a new job system to Final Fantasy XII from the International Zodiac Job System

If you had hopes that Final Fantasy XII was also going to be landing an upgraded version to the PS4 here soon then your prayers are being answered. We are getting just that out of Square Enix here in 2017 as it looks like all of their past titles in the franchise are going to be getting the HD upgrade. This one just happens to be Final Fantasy XII and some of the upgrades that are coming are not just in the visual and audio department. It looks like in the western lands the game is also getting the leveling and upgraded system enhancements that never came before.

There should be no need to go into the repetitive 1080p 7.1 surround sound upgrade that we should expect from this PS2 Final Fantasy title. The big update is the Zodiac Job system that will allow us to swap between 12 jobs in the game for our character so we have even more freedom in how they progress and play in the game. Of course it is claimed as improved but until we see it here and can truly give it a play we will just leave it in the new pile. Hopefully it will jump into the improved one over the very straight forward one that I remember from almost a decade ago. Has it been that long?

It also looks like Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age will give us a new trial mode in the game. This will allow us to enter into what sounds like an arena where we fend off against 100 consecutive battles from the creatures of the world. Full details on that and the new Speed Mode are a little sparse but there is a listing for them in the list of improvements and we can only think as to what that will all entail. Maybe it is more along the line of speeding up the combat in the game so we can "skip" certain easier fights and just gain XP. Not a horrible hope in my book.
