PAC-MAN 256 Chomping Its Way To Consoles & PC Next Month

PAC-MAN

Hit mobile game, PAC-MAN 256, is taking aim for consoles and PC next month and bringing multiplayer to PAC-MAN 256 exclusively for those platforms

Legends never die and it looks even more the case now that PAC-MAN 256 is making the leap from mobile devices over to the PS4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam here on June 21st. For those not in the know this would be the version of the franchise that Hipster Whale and 3 Sprockets have put together for us all that has won quite a few awards. Now PAC-MAN 256 will try and capture a few more eyes and fans as it goes for more awards with the new release. Like I said, legends die hard and this one will keep going on for life.

This won't be just a basic port of PAC-MAN 256 though before you wonder why anyone would go play the mobile game on their consoles/PCs. This version is coming packed with new social features and ten new unlockable themes just for these platforms. Also it will feature a 4 player local co-op multiplayer mode for maximum fun. You know…because we always thought PAC-MAN was supposed to be a multiplayer experience for some reason instead of the basic fun we all know and love. Multiplayer is getting crammed in everywhere it really doesn't need to be now.

PAC-MAN 256 — Console Announcement

“We wanted everyone to enjoy PAC-MAN 256, so it was a logical decision to make it available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The brand new local multiplayer mode, exclusive to the console and PC versions, makes it even more accessible: get ready for maximum fun playing up to 4 players at the same time!”

What do you think about PAC-MAN 256 making the leap of platforms? Are you jazzed or confused by the addition of a multiplayer mode? Do you think it was something that was needed to make the game just as viable off of the mobile devices? Let us know and feel free to discuss in the comments below.
