Friday The 13th
New gameplay for Friday The 13th: The Game has been revealed during PAX East and a new location bring one of Friday The 13th's icons to life
Finally we have some solid gameplay for Friday The 13th: The Game and a good look at one of the game's environments right out of PAX East. That would be where Illfonic and Gun Media chose to show off the new bits but it didn't take long at all for us to get all of the lovely new footage online and in video format to see. Before now most of the gameplay tidbits for Friday The 13th have been very rough or just descriptions of how mechanics will work in game. Now we get to see how all of those hardcore mo-cap sessions play out as Jason goes to town.
The first bit of gameplay we have here is an extended view of the first little tease we had a short while ago. This would be the scene where Jason begins to beat down a door while a counselor is hiding under an assumed bed. Never a good thing to do in any Friday The 13th scenario as it will most likely lead to your demise. That is of course what you have to look forward to in the following clip. Just another death animation that we will soon be seeing many times; just hopefully from the side of Jason and not the downed counselor. Unless the animation will always play out in this manner no matter who is playing who.
Friday The 13th: The Game — Hide And Seek
Next up we have a nice fly-by of the Higgin's Haven in Friday The 13th: The Game. Not much in terms of gameplay but it does give us a good look at how detailed the insides of the game's building will be as Illfonic isn't going to be just using blank templates. That would have been the easy way out in terms of development but that would have taken us a bit out of the immersion now wouldn't it? Good thing the team is taking the time to give us a realistic feeling place just in time to have our blood and guts thrown around to help decorate the walls.
Friday The 13th: The Game — Higgin's Haven
Hopefully you stayed around to the end of the fly-by there and also saw the second of the amazing ways Jason will be killing everyone in Friday The 13th. I know back when Gun Media gave us the mo-cap videos I was a bit curious to see where the smashing of the refrigerator was going to come into the game and here we have it. It is just as brutal as watching the actor just smashes the door and not some poor soul's head into the door frame. I am excited to see how many more of these amazing kills we are going to get as I am only speculating based on the mo-cap.
What do you think about the gameplay here for Friday The 13th: The Game? Were you hoping to see how a match actually plays out or does this sate the blood-lust for now? What other ways are you hoping to see Jason brutally kill all of these counselors in the game? Let us know your thoughts and discuss in the comments below.
