A new update on Final Fantasy XV's flying car have cropped up and it looks like it could be the best way to see Final Fantasy XV's landscapes
If you tuned in for Final Fantasy XV's Uncovered event then you most likely saw a nice little extra surprise at the end of the trailer where the hero's car takes flight. It was an awesome little extra that Square Enix threw in to get us all in a tizzy for the game now that we all know it is coming on September 30th. Not that it was truly needed but we received it and of course that brought all of the rumors and speculation of how it plays in Final Fantasy XV into a tizzy as well. Gladly though, it looks like all of that was incorrect on the gamer's side.
The speculation around the excitement of seeing the normal mode of travel in the game take to flight was quite simply that it was only going to be a nice little animation leading to a quick travel screen for us. Seeing as air ships have been nothing but for some time now it would be easy to make that leap of logic for Final Fantasy XV. During a recent play through of the game by Game Informer though it turns out that we get to actually fly and land the car around the game world as we see fit. So it is a faster way to travel and not a generic fast travel system. Also Square's answer to air ships as it seems.
Of course this isn't going to be open from the start of the game as that would make things "to easy" but it is something that we get to build toward and experience. According to the Final Fantasy XV's director it is also something that we only get to look forward to near the end of the game. That's a bit more of a wait than I would like personally but being able to have free range of movement and the added task of taking off and landing is certainly going to add something to the overall gaming experience isn't it? Of course it is.
“The player will obtain the flying Regalia near the end of the game as an additional challenge,” says Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata. “When certain conditions are met, the car is remodeled to the flying model.”
