Gameplay For Vampyr Has Made It Out Of The Coffin

Vampyr

The first bit of gameplay for Vampyr has made it online with a bit of a developer overview to let us see how Vampyr may run in its final form

So far we have been given very little for Vampyr and at most it has been concept art and screenshots. Little is still known to the mass public on what Dontnod is building here outside of the very basics. It is a vampire game set in the era of the early 1900's in London. Also our choices on whom we kill are going to matter. Also that Vampyr is slated for a PS4, Xbox One, and PC launch sometime in 2017. Focus Home Interactive hasn't been too forthcoming with details but the game is still early on so we can't completely blame them.

Thankfully though it does look like some new video footage of Vampyr has made it out there onto the internet and while it is mostly development screens and information we already know we do get to spy some actually gameplay footage from an alpha build of the game. It really isn't too much but it is something so you can get a feel for what they are trying to bring us in the game. You can have a look below but the newest information has to be that other vampires can "snipe" your kills if you choose not to end the life of an NPC. That's kind of cool.

Vampyr — Gameplay

There you go. Pretty much what you would expect as Vampyr looks to play a lot like many other third-person action games out there. The setting looks nice and I am curious to see how Dontnod pulls off some of the mind-altering effects that the vampires can do in the game but I am sure that will all come at a later point when all is ready to be revealed. Most likely in the next few months as we head into E3 and major convention season. Time is on our side for this I guess…

What do you think about the new Vampyr footage here? Does it look more like a game you will want to experience or did their last third-person title sour you for their future? Do you think those mind powers are going to be limited to dialog sequences or will they open up into actual gameplay? Let us know what you think and discuss away in the comments below. As with all other games like Vampyr we will have all the updates here from Focus Home Interactive as they get released. Be sure to stick around so you don't miss out.
