Conan Exiles Has Been Announced & Going To Bring Us Back To Hyboria

Conan Exiles

Conan Exiles has been announced today and it looks to further the lore and world of the IP on PC and Console as Conan Exiles takes us on an open-world adventure

It looks like we all will be heading back into Hyboria here soon as Conan Exiles has just been announced and prepping to do just that. Just in case Age Of Conan didn't give you that fix as of yet, Funcom is working on another entry into the franchise only this time in the way of an open-world multiplayer experience. Not just for PC this time but Conan Exiles looks to be heading to the consoles as well. None have been stated as of yet but I would say that the PS4 and the Xbox One are complete shoe-ins for that.

In Conan Exiles you will play, as the title suggests, one of the thousands of humans cast out into the barbaric wastelands to fend for yourself. You will be growing crops and hunting animals as well as building your own shelters to survive the harshness of Conan Exiles' world. Obviously this will also extend out to building weapons and fighting others to not die and to carry on. This can be done either on your own or, as it is urged, in groups who band together and dominate their own little corner of Hyboria.

Conan Exiles — Announcement

"There is no better setting for an open-world survival game than the world of Conan," said Joel Bylos, creative director at Funcom. "Hyboria is a harsh and unforgiving land where only the strongest can survive while the weak are swiftly cut down. Whether it is hunting animals for food, fighting monsters and other players, or building entire settlements, we want to make sure players feel like they are really fighting to survive and prosper in the most brutal fantasy world ever."

Currently there is no gameplay for Conan Exiles or release date but Funcom has announced an "Early Access" for PC players some time this summer. A full launch is slated obviously for sometime after that for all of the platforms listed above. Maybe more based on the definition of console but I am going to stick with the ones listed above as being the only ones out there. Either way we will see Conan Exiles hopefully bring the world back to life and in more homes than the MMORPG was able to already.

Are you excited to see Conan Exiles in the works here? Do you think that it will house the same basic systems that Age Of Conan had but not in an MMORPG setting? Do you think that Conan Exiles will play well online between all of the platforms or will we be stuck to our private servers to cater to the non-PC master race? Let us know what you think down in the comments. As we get more on Conan Exiles out of Funcom we will update you here on the site. Be sure to keep your browsers locked in here for more.
