If Scalebound was on your radar for an amazing RPG experience on the Xbox One it looks like you are going to have to wait a bit longer to get it as the game has now been hit with delays. It looks like PlatinumGames has huge plans for Scalebound and having it out sometime in 2016 just isn't going to allow them the time to blow our minds with the game. Now it looks like 2017 is going to be the sweet year that we are going to get to see Scalebound in all of its dragon-y glory sadly but it could be well worth the wait.
This news of course comes right from the horse's mouth over at PlatinumGames as they gave us all a nice little update on their site. Outside of Scalebound being quoted as huge and ambitious game and that development is going well there are no other reasons given as to why the delay has struck. There are probably all sorts of reasons for the delay going on in the back end of things but this is what we have and this is what we have to deal with to get Scalebound on our Xbox One at some point in time. There is a great track record for the developer so forgiveness can be given.
Here is partially what was given to us about the Scalebound delay. You can read the entire announcement over on their new/update site but it is mostly filler with apologies to sate us as we wait longer for Scalebound.
Development on the game is going well and we’re really happy with how it’s coming together. Scalebound is one of the biggest games PlatinumGames has ever created: an epic adventure filled with exploration and fantasy gameplay, inventive multiplayer, and action-packed battles on an unbelievable scale – all set in a beautiful and evolving world. It’s the game our team has always dreamed of making.
In order to deliver on our ambitious vision and ensure that Scalebound lives up to expectations, we will be launching the game in 2017. This will give us the time needed to bring to life all the innovative features and thrilling gameplay experiences that we have planned.

How do you feel about Scalebound's delay here? Does it make sense to you or would you rather have a bit more insight as to why the game has been delayed? Do you think that this is all due to other projects that PlatinumGames could be working on or will Scalebound have the scope that we saw in The Witcher 3? Let us know your thoughts on the matter in the comments below and feel free to discuss everything away. If we get any further updates on Scalebound we'll try to have them up here on the site as we can. Be sure to keep checking in for all of that as it may come.
