Evil Overshadows All In Call Of Duty: Black Ops 3's Zombies Mode

Black Ops 3

A new trailer for Call Of Duty: Black Ops 3's zombie mode has been released and it gives us all a little more into the dark pasts of these new characters for the Black Ops 3 mode

With each new bit for Call Of Duty: Black Ops 3's new Zombie mode it is still a bit jarring to me to see that the mode is not fully following the same path as all of the other iterations of it. Each before Black Ops 3 was generally set in the era of the core campaign or the core multiplayer area for the game. Treyarch doesn't look to be doing that here as, well as we've seen before, Black Ops 3's zombies will be set in the past of sorts and not in the future-ish setting that we already know is coming to the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC here on November 6th. Unless we look at it all in the terms of not being a hallucination based on the hardware we use in Black Ops 3 proper.

Enough of what we should already know for Call Of Duty: Black Ops 3's zombies and let's move into the prologue for the overarching story that is looking to be told in this survival co-op experience that Treyarch is fashioning for us. In fact, the latest trailer for Black Ops 3's zombies gives a bit more of the darker side behind each of the characters that Jeff Goldblum, Heather Graham, Neal McDonough, and Ron Perlman are portraying here. Each has a bloody history in some way and it looks like Black Ops 3 zombies will be their penance for it all. At least if they can survive and make their way back to redemption.

Call Of Duty: Black Ops 3 — Zombies Shadows Of Evil Prologue

Of course I see this and think that this will be the only real bit of story we will get for the zombies mode here. Unless Call Of Duty: Black Ops 3 is also changing up the core gameplay this time around and Activision is okay with changing the winning formula then it will most likely just be: shoot zombies, get cash, get weapons, shoot zombies, open new location, rinse, and repeat. The story here will only be something found on the sidelines of Black Ops 3 and not in the core. If it was then why would Treyarch not just make a whole other game with the same mechanics and cash in twice? That would make more sense here. Hopefully Call Of Duty: Black Ops 3 will surprise me by making a change for zombies…

Do you think that this is just some nice fluff for a zombie mode that will be the same here in Black Ops 3 as it has been in other titles? Are you hoping that Treyarch made some kind of grand change to the gameplay for zombies that it will be 100% different than anything else before? Are you happy with the mode staying the same as always? Let us know and discuss away down in the comments. Hopefully more for Call Of Duty: Black Ops 3 and the zombies mode will be revealed by Activision as we get closer to the November 6th release date and if it does we will have it all right here for you. Keep checking back for all of those updates as they happen.
