Submerged Has A Release Date And It Isn't Far Off

Back in April we first had the announcement for Submerged coming to the PS4 and a few new details. There was also a nice little trailer showing off the game and how hard Uppercut Games has been working on it to go along with it. Also the only release date we had for Submerged was set to 2015 and that was also for the Steam and Xbox One versions of the game. That is why it is a bit odd to announce that Submerged will be releasing on August 4th for PC and PS4 while releasing on Xbox One on August 7th. Yes, we now have a release date for this serene looking adventure game that barely anyone had heard of until now.

For those wonder about Submerged, as this may be the first time you are hearing of it too, this is a third-person, combat-free adventure game where you get to explore a mysterious and flooded city while trying to keep your injured brother alive. It looks like Uppercut Games is going for more of an exploration platforming kind of thing with Submerged as there will be climbing and boating all mixed in with the normal walking around. At least I can see this being the core of it all as there is no combat in Submerged and they would have to find something to keep you entertained with the game. Even The Lord Of The Rings had to have more than just walking and talking.

Submerged — Gameplay Trailer

Outside of all of that there is nothing more to go on for Submerged at this time. I will say that some of the environments do look to be taking advantage of the Unreal Engine 4's power but I have a feeling this is going to be more like Journey when all is said and done. Just hopefully there will be some real dialog and not just chimes to let you know what is going on. I guess we'll find out in August on all of those mentioned platforms on what the real deal for Submerged is going to be. Just hopefully not 12 hours of walking to throw a ring into a lava pit and then roll credits…

Have you been keeping up on Submerged? Is this your first time hearing and seeing anything for it? Do you think Uppercut Games will have a winner here? Let us know your thoughts down in the comments and discuss. I know I'll be keeping a close eye on Submerged as we get closer to the date that is only mere weeks away so keep checking in here for more on Submerged if it looks like it will tickle your fancy.
