Batgirl Is Adding A Family Matter To Batman: Arkham Knight

We all knew that we were getting a bit of story DLC featuring Batgirl in Batman: Arkham Knight. We just never knew when or in what capacity we would be getting her added to the mix. I am glad to say that while Rocksteady Games has been working on fixing those PC bugs and Warner Bros. have been aiming at the PS4 and Xbox One issues we now have more details on this story DLC for Batman: Arkham Knight. Not only that but those with a season pass for the game can look forward to getting it added to their experience just after SDCC on July 14th. July 21st for those who wanted to buy it on its own or didn't get the Arkham Knight season pass.

So what will this DLC bring to Batman: Arkham Knight? Well it looks like we are going back in time before Batman: Arkham Asylum and digging into a bit of Batgirl's story and most likely how she became the woman we know her to be in the franchise. She won't be the only one as Rocksteady Games needs to let the dual play gameplay shine more as Robin will be in the mix to aid her in some of the tougher combat section but that is the only name dropped in the official announcement. Not that I think Batgirl needs help in the game at all though. Just that they worked on the mechanics and need to have it in all of the Batman: Arkham Knight DLC.

Other things added into the mix here will be new locations for Batman: Arkham Knight as well as a few other gameplay changes just for Batgirl even though they have been set in Arkham Knight proper. I won't complain as it is always nice to get more than just skins and challenges for the price of the DLC. Remember that is what it always could have just been here for Batman: Arkham Knight and it is not at all.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment today announced the first story driven add-on for Batman: Arkham Knight – Batgirl: A Matter of Family. Set prior to the events of Batman: Arkham Asylum, Batgirl: A Matter of Family will allow players to take on the role of Batgirl for the first time in the Batman: Arkham franchise. This exciting story add-on features an all-new location with multiple missions, side quests and secrets; a new hacking feature to progress through the world and solve puzzles; and Dual Play functionality with Robin for dynamic take-down maneuvers. Batgirl: A Matter of Family will be available 14th July for fans who have purchased the Batman: Arkham Knight Season Pass and are connected to the Internet, or it can be purchased separately on 21st July for $6.99/£5.79 on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live online entertainment network from Microsoft.
