Fans Won't Let P.T. Die As We Have Allison Road As A Successor

I'll be the first to admit that the loss of P.T. and Silent Hills was a kick to the nuts with spiked, steel-toed boot. Thankfully we have a lot of other passionate people out there working on solutions to that pain and we have another one in the way of Allison Road. It is another attempt to drive fear into our hearts while wandering around what we should all assume to be a safe place; our own home. Well the personal home of the unnamed protagonist we are controlling in Allison Road at least which of course has not only that in common with the aforementioned P.T. but also a lot of the aesthetics and tone of that original demo.

This all of course is coming from a small UK studio named Lilith Ltd. who wanted to keep not only the spirit that Kojima and del Toro created but also the fear we all felt. Allison Road looks to have it but of course it wouldn't be a full game anyone would want to pay for if that is all it was. This of course means that we are going to be getting a lot more out of Allison Road than we had in the other titles mentioned already but if you want more, here's the official description that we have to work with for Allison Road. Not a lot of similarities to current titles and titles that have been ruthlessly discarded by publishers who don't want to make money.

You will take on the role of the unnamed protagonist who wakes up one day without any recollection of prior events.

Over the course of five nights, it is your objective to uncover the whereabouts of your family, unravel the mysteries of the house, and face off against [dark entities] that are nested deep within the house, while the clock is relentlessly ticking towards 3:00am.

What would you do if you could feel something stalking you in the dark in the safety of your own home?

If you couldn’t tell what’s real and what’s not?

Oh, but it gets even better here than just a description for Allison Road. Lilith Ltd. has also seen it fit to release a nice thirteen minute demo of some pre-alpha gameplay for Allison Road. To be honest it is more or less 70% walk-through an environment and hear some weird voice acting before all hell breaks loose in the house but the actual horror elements that begin to crop up make the wait worth it here. Be your own judge though and have a look at what we have for Allison Road currently and see what I am talking about. Those weak willed and lacking testicular fortitude may want to have their fingers poised on the pause button as it does do what it set out to do pretty well.

Allison Road — Prototype Gameplay

Pretty freaking amazing huh? If they tweaked the jump scares to be a little less predictable for Allison Road I know it would be a title I wouldn't be able to keep play though based on what I just saw. The right level of creep to the right level of suspense. I just wish I didn't see the jump scares in these things like blaring red lights. That will be the biggest hurdle that Allison Road will have to clear to get on par with what Hideo Kojima had set up in the Playable Teaser that made us all scream and cringe in fear over the last year.

As Allison Road is still in pre-alpha and being built on the Unreal 4 engine platforms and release dates are pretty much nowhere to be found. 2016 is what is listed on the wiki page but that could be December of 2016 for all we know. I would say it is a safe bet that we will see Allison Road on the PC and most likely the PS4 given what the developer has in the video here. Given how versatile the engine is I can see it making its way to the XB1 as well but as I said Allison Road is still in the early stages so there is nothing to confirm or set in stone at this time. We'll just have to wait and see.

As you can bet I'll be all over Allison Road like the ghosts murdering the living here so expect there to be updates as we get them from Lilith Ltd. We all want to hear what you think about Allison Road so join in and leave your thoughts and comments down in the nice section provided for you. We won't bite. Only throw more jump scares at you like Allison Road.
