Jason Is Out Of The Lake & Into Mortal Kombat X Now

The first major character DLC for Mortal Kombat X is on the verge of launch and now we have a great look at Jason Voorhees getting into the mix of the game. Yes this is the slasher from the Friday The 13th franchise for those who may have been under a rock for the last 30+ years and have no clue who that is. At least in this version we will see NetherRealm's take on the horror icon for Mortal Kombat X. Hopefully he is as brutal as he has been over the decades but I guess the hope is no more as we have that look at him I guess…

Of course with a new character for Mortal Kombat X has been a new Kombat Kast to help cover the character and show off all of his variations. Each of which look to completely be covering all of the amazing iconic stuff that we would expect to see with Jason. For instance he has an ability that makes him "unstoppable" in sorts as he can't be knocked down while taking damage. Just like the films. Absolutely amazing and a good homage to the character and the franchise here in Mortal Kombat X. Not to mention that and he has the ability to "resurrect" if knocked down and gaining health based on the EX Meter that Jason currently has.

Here is a quick breakdown though of what Jason will be bringing to Mortal Kombat X. He really looks like he may be my new go to moving forward for now.

Jason Voorhees

  • Slasher — Gains many new abilities focusing on the Machete
  • Relentless — Gains the ability to Teleport, Command Grabs, and Pursuit Mode
  • Unstoppable — Gains Punishment, Rise, and Resurrection

I know words here are not always going to be the best way to show off Jason here for Mortal Kombat X but I truly think that NetherRealm has completely captured the essence of the character from what I have seen. Everything from his "Lake Mist" teleport to the fact that the last hit isn't always the last for Jason in the match it feels just right. Sadly to say, they have nailed in worlds better than Freddy back in the Mortal Kombat 9. Sadly as that would be my more favorite character out of the horror icons that have been DLC for the franchise. Maybe we can get some past characters updated in? Please.

So what do you think about Jason in Mortal Kombat X? Did you get the Kombat Pack and will be playing him tomorrow? Are you going to wait and give him a try in the Living Towers? Let us know what you think about Jason in Mortal Kombat X down in the comment section as we will be waiting for the next big character DLC to hit.
