A Few More Reasons To Look Forward To Wolfenstein: The Old Blood

If Wolfenstein: The New Order wasn't enough to get you excited for Wolfenstein: The Old Blood then it looks like Bethesda and Machine Games have a bit more to make that May 5th release date seem so very far away now. Yes it is a bit of the usual screenshot fare but also, as they mentioned on their blog, there are even more things outside of that. Now the launch for it on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC seem even further away than before with just that one sentence. Wolfenstein: The Old Blood is coming and now it is time to let you in on why you need to be more excited for the game to launch.

It is a prequel of sorts so you can play Wolfenstein: The Old Blood without playing New Order for starters. It works on its own and adds little extras to the story for those who have already enjoyed the most recent title form Machine Games. While The Old Blood was slated to just use all of the assets already in use for New Order it looks like the team has decided to create almost all new and original assets for B.J. to destroy. This makes sense as a lot of the tech he was using/fighting wouldn't be around in the era that The Old Blood is taking place in with the alternate history story we've already had.

Wolfenstein: The Old Blood is also looking to including in a bit of a nod to Return To Castle Wolfenstein in the way of Nazi Zombies. A video game must it would seem. Although I guess it is more than just a nod as these creatures will be added in a capacity that we've yet to experience in the franchise. Smart zombies that can use weapons and have a wicked pounce sound like they will plague us as we use B.J.'s new stealth weapon, the pipe, in Wolfenstein: The Old Blood. That's right; B.J. is losing the knife for a sectional pipe to bash in those zombie/Nazi skulls now. Epic!

I am sure that there will be more for Wolfenstein: The Old Blood as we get closer to the release date for the DLC but as of now what do you think? Do you want more flesh and blood or more bullets flying? Did you even enjoy The New Order enough to justify giving this a try once it launches? Let us all know so we know what alternate timeline you are living on down in the comments.
