That may sound a little confusing but yes, Jade will not be in Mortal Kombat X. At least that is in the form of the traditional sense we may be hoping for. She is in Mortal Kombat X in the way of a fighting variation for Kitana as revealed during the most recent Kombat Kast by the team over at NetherRealm Studios. On top of that we also were given a good look at the variations for the two characters that we have yet to have details for. That would be Kitana of course and Reptile.
First up we have a look at Kitana's different variation in Mortal Kombat X. The team has taken a more regal theme with the princess here. They've also seemed to make here a little more of an assassin in the past as well as giving here all of Jade's moves from MK9 that have been updated for Mortal Kombat X. This also alludes to her dying at some point in the narrative so there is also that little nugget of spoiler goodness for us all as well. Here is the breakdown of her moves:
- Royal Storm - Can reflect projectiles, throw the fan lift, some kind of butt fly attack
- Assassin - Assassin strike that allows an attack from across the screen, can parry attacks, can sharpen fans for more damage
- Mournful - Gains Jade's Glaive, staff, and moves from MK9
Next up is Reptile for Mortal Kombat X. What is funny is that almost all of his variations share the same moves but only allow for different effects to take place. This includes being able to go completely invisible on screen as well as slowing down the speed of opponents similar to The Flash in Injustice. In fact it seems like all of his variations are more passive in nature than the others. You can have a look at a quick breakdown right here:
- Deceptive - Allows for true invisibility
- Noxious - Has a gas cloud that deals unblockable damage
- Nimble - Makes Reptile more nimble and agile while adding in a move that slows the opponent
Mortal Kombat X — Kombat Kast 3
So there we have it. All of the revealed characters in Mortal Kombat X have their variations out there except for Goro. Hopefully we will see more on him in future Kombat Kasts but who knows? Are you still hyped for Mortal Kombat X knowing all of this? Do you still wonder who else is next? Let us all know your thoughts in the comments.
