Here we go with another gameplay video for Dying Light to show off all the free movement we are going to have when the game finally launches next year. This has to be the biggest selling point and new innovation for Techland and Warner Bros. given it is coming out around the same time as a whole bunch of other zombie titles. We wouldn't want Dying Light to become some kind of white noise in the background of all the zombie killing we are going to be doing on our PS4 or Xbox One do we? Of course not and neither do the wallets of Techland and Warner Bros.
That all said, let us have a look at more on how to get around Dying Light. Or at least Harran as the video states. I don't want to make a claim just in case we get to travel to other places in Dying Light that have yet to be announced and Harran is the only place that has high enough buildings to use zip-lines or grappling hooks. Wouldn't that be a little bit awkward? Not really but it felt right to say.
Dying Light — Getting Around Harran
I am a bit curious as to how these free runners survive some pretty crazy and leg shattering drops in Dying Light after seeing these new runs. There was at least one drop that had to be at least 30 feet in the air. Unless Harran has extremely low power lines that is. None the less the human body can't survive many of those kinds of drops completely unscathed. There wasn't even any indication that there was damage taken from the drop so that it could be mystically "walked off."
On that note, it looks like all garbage in Dying Light is just packing peanuts or foam. Also all the dead inhabitants whom died are soft and squishy pillows for us all to land on. I've made jumps from those heights in the real world onto soft objects and, while not being hurt, it was not pleasant nor something to get up and sprint away from. There was a bit of walking off that was required. Then again I am trying to impose real world things into a video game that is only using partial reality to make the game fun.
