We Have More To Comparisons For Resident Evil REmake

Hold onto your brain caps here as we have a few more images to show off why Resident Evil REmake or Resident Evil HD or Resident Evil — The Cash In On The Zombie Crazy or whatever you want to call the game. No matter how you slice it, it is another remastering of Resident Evil only this time it is for consoles and PCs that can handle the amazingness that started a whole genre for all of us gamers out there. This is just a look to make sure that Capcom is taking great care in the IP so we can hopefully move onto a Resident Evil 7 and further.

So what we have here is a look at the Wii version of Resident Evil HD on the left. On the right hand side is the Xbox 360 version of Resident Evil REmake. It should be a no brainer that the right hand side should look insanely better but let us now take them under our fine-toothed comb and dissect them to see if this is the version of the game that we all truly have been waiting for.

Even with the side by side comparison it is a bit tricky to see if Resident Evil REmake really is leaps and bound a head of what we've already enjoyed. Even when using Capcom's handy slider versions of these images that let you swipe between the two as you wish makes it a bit difficult. There is no mistake that the character models and environments have been given a higher poly count look but some of the grain looks to be lost in translation. That grain, for me, added an extra level of terror in the game as you couldn't see exactly what was going on all the time. Maybe it is just these images but it looks gone in Resident Evil REmake.

Just like with HD porn, I think the fantasy starts to vanish when all of the minute details in a horror game are flashed to the world in high quality. The fear of the unknown or not knowing everything is a driving force in horror titles. Being able to see the small pores and wrinkles on Jill in Resident Evil REmake won't damage anything but it may draw attention away from the true scope of the game; that being a survival horror title. That thought process is also a very focused and worse case type of thing though as there is nothing more gruesome than seeing realistic body parts flying around or being eaten. I just want my cake so I can eat it too…
