So Resident Evil Revelations 2 was announced and a few bits of information about the game were spilled through various means but it looks like the horse's mouth, Capcom, has given us more than expected for this upcoming title. The biggest of all being that Resident Evil Revelations 2 will be continuing the episodic structure that we have all come to see in our zombie games. The only big difference here is that each new episode should only be about a week apart from each other.
That all means that Resident Evil Revelations 2 will stretch the span of a month to be fully released because as of right now there are only four episodes being mentioned. As with episodic games as of late there will be a "season pass" that will include all of the titles in one bundle. Currently that option will garner two things. It will save you a buck in the long run as the complete season of Resident Evil Revelations 2 will be $24.99 while each episode will cost $5.99 a pop. So there is the savings to look at if you want to be thrifty.
The other aspect of buying the complete season of Resident Evil Revelations 2 will be that there will be some currently unannounced bonus content for the game. This is only available for those who purchase the whole title upfront but I am sure that the extra "DLC" will hit markets on an individual basis at some point. Whatever that all may be. Oh, and if you are one of those people who still like physical copies of games, Resident Evil Revelations 2 will be available in a physical form once the digital season has ended and will include all of the extras too. Which is good as it is slated at $39.99 for everything.

One last little bit before I let you go after reading and seeing all of the above. It looks like we have a bit more on the story of Resident Evil Revelations 2 too. I'll lift it straight from Capcom to make things easier than my normal paraphrasing. Although I know you all do love my paraphrasing so much…
The beginning of the Resident Evil Revelations 2 tale sees fan favorite Claire Redfield make a dramatic return to the horrors that haunted her in the past. Survivor of the Raccoon City incident depicted in previous Resident Evil games, Claire now works for the anti-bioterrorism organisation Terra Save. Moira Burton, new recruit and daughter of Resident Evil legend Barry Burton, is attending her welcome party for Terra Save when unknown armed forces storm the office. Claire and Moira are knocked unconscious and awaken later to find themselves in a dark and abandoned detention facility. Working together, they must find out who took them and to what sinister end. With the terrifying Afflicted enemies waiting around every dark corner, players will need to use their ammo and weapon supply wisely, in classic survival horror style. Will Claire and Moira make it out alive and discover what’s led to them being taken to this remote island? Who else will they come across? A story of twists and turns will have players guessing the next step at every turn. |
