If you have no idea what Haunted House: Cryptic Graves is, don't fret. It is most likely well before your time when the original title from Atari was released, 1982, so you may not have a point of reference for Haunted House: Cryptic Graves. That is okay though as we do have a nice little teaser trailer for the re-imaging of the game that is slated to release this Fall on PC. It sure looks a lot creepier than the original 2600 version of the game way back in the day.
Here, have a look at the teaser trailer for Haunted House: Cryptic Graves before we move on into what we might be able to expect. This would be two re-imagining or modernizations of Atari titles this week now since we just heard about Alone In The Dark: Illumination.
It's just how my mind works but if I didn't know better I would swear that Atari was making a huge horror film joke with this trailer for Haunted House: Cryptic Graves. "Purge" the "Paranormal Activity"? No? Just me? Okay, moving on.
Just like the Alone In The Dark teaser, this new teaser for Haunted House: Cryptic Graves has piqued my interest since it looks like it will be focusing on giving us all tunnel vision and leave the off screen stuff there just to scare us all. It also looks like it will be utilizing the new engine rather well. Just the little bit that has been shown for Haunted House: Cryptic Graves looks like the atmosphere has been captured and being used well beyond anything that the 2600 could ever dream of doing. Now that is a stretch…
The bigger question here for Haunted House: Cryptic Graves is if the game will still be focused on just finding objects to remove the evil forces or if there will be more than just that. Obviously we will now be able to "talk to the dead" to solve puzzles and advance the overall story of the game but so far all we really know is what we have here. Marking Haunted House: Cryptic Graves down on the radar to keep an eye or two out for now.
