I guess we can now understand why Gearbox has been pushing all the Borderlands spin-offs and that is to keep the money flowing in for their new IP Battleborn. As I stated this is not a title about how Nevada became part of the United States of America but a new FPS co-op title set in the distant future. Although it could be very easy to twist the whole story back into a game about Nevada but I have a good feeling that is nowhere close to what Battleborn is going to be all about. Could you imagine though?
So what is Battleborn all about? What we do know as of now is that it is a "hero-shooter" where you take on the role of a "new breed of warrior" and team up with other rivals to drive back an "unstoppable" menace and save the last star in the universe. Not that big of a mission. Only the last star and all. Not too clear on how things escalated to this point in Battleborn's universe but that is all we have to go on besides the below trailer. That is outside of the huge focus on the multiplayer tag for the game. Looks like that craze is coming back again.
The announcement trailer for Battleborn does look to be all pre-rendered outside of an engine but it could be in-engine. Only Gearbox and 2K know for sure. As of right now it is quoted as coming in 2016 for the PS4, XB1, and PC. Personally I hope the visual style changes a bit from announcement trailer to actual gameplay but I don't have high hopes for that. We'll of course update as there is more news for Battleborn. Also if the game changes gears into a Nevada History hero-shooter.
