While it is purely speculation at the moment, I believe Metal Gear Solid V will come to the PC. Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance has already been ported to the PC early in January, so to me it makes perfect since for all future Metal Gear games to be released on PC at some point in time. In interviews it has been stated Hideo Kojima really wants to push Metal Gear’s graphical boundaries to the limits of modern hardware. Considering when consoles are released they are somewhat on par with medium end gaming rigs available around the same price points but for the gap between quality further as years go by. It seems like a logical match made in heaven idea.
The only drawback I could see is the mouse and keyboard control scheme might not work out with how the game should play. That is a minor inconvenience considering most PC gamers have a controller on hand to play certain games with (i.e. Dark Souls).
Metal Gear Solid V is set to be released March 18th of this year. So hopefully we might see a PC release later this year. The game's story is set between Peace Walker and, the later to be released, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Hopefully this is also an avenue to see older Metal Gear Solid games get HD touch ups and re-releases on PC platforms such as Steam.
Speaking of Metal Gear Solid V coming to the PC, it also begs what the price point would be. Generally PC games are about $10 dollars less than their console counter parts. So will it be $19.99 since the PS3 and Xbox 360 version are $29.99? Or will they be $29.99 since the PS4 and Xbox One versions are $39.99? Though the future is unclear, it certainly looks bright for fans of the Metal Gear Franchise.
