Review: RVBX

Sometimes after shows have been around 10 years, as RvB has, it doesn't age well. I can assure you this is not the case here. The show is just as funny now as it was when it first launched online 10 years ago. It has had a nice run, and I hope to see another 10 years in this great series.

I had always been partial to the first 3 or 4 seasons personally as I feel the story become quite complex and less humorous as it went on. After sitting down and watching the whole series beginning to end I have to say I no longer feel this way. While it did become more complex, I feel it just made the series more interesting. The humor did let up in later seasons, but I still have many fond moments of Caboose acting like… well Caboose.

Season 10, which just ended right before the release of this collection, ends quite nicely and wraps up the overall story-arc of the Freelancers and the Red/Blue war. At the end we are left with little to no plot holes and a nice gesture of what may be to come next season. This season also has some of the best computer animated scenes I have seen in any machinima ever. They really outdid themselves with this one.

Each season has its own bonus features and the box comes with four discs of extras, mini-series, and shorts. This box literally has everything RvB released the last 10 years and no Halo or RvB fan should be without this collection.

This collection also marks the first time the whole series will be on the Blu-ray format, with season 10 being the only one sold on its own as a Blu-ray set, making the RvB: X box the only way to have it all on BD.

The collection retails for $139.99 for the DVD version and $179.99 for the Blu-ray version, they both have the same content on the disc, and both variants have a total run-time of 18 hours and 42 minutes not counting extras.

This is for sure something you all need to pick up as soon as possible!

Red Vs Blue 10th Anniversary Collection was released on November 6th by Roster Teeth. A DVD copy of Red Vs Blue 10th Anniversary Collection was supplied by Rooster Teeth for review purposes.
