Deathbound Opens Up With A New Demo For Us All To Enjoy

Deathbound

A demo for Deathbound is on the way so we can see just what the Soulslike of Deathbound will offer up to us all

Those who have been on the lookout for a new Soulslike game may want to take note here for the upcoming Deathbound. This is the genre of game that Trialforge Studio and Tate Multimedia are gearing up to give us on the PC when it is ready. That is something that is still not fully set as of yet. Release date or not, though, that does not mean we have to wait until an undetermined time to get to experience what Deathbound is going to give us on the PC. It looks like it will be taking part of the Steam Next Fest and offering up a nice little demo to get us all hooked in and waiting to get the final game.

This demo for Deathbound, which will run from February 5th to February 12th, will take us into the world of Ziêminal. A world where science and faith are going to clash as we fight off all manner of creatures and gain the skills, memories, and identities of other fallen warriors so that we can do slightly better each time. All while allowing us to shift between the various warriors to give Deathbound a bit more of a variety in the mix. Pretty much the formula we have seen in many other Soulslike titles but with this one has its own story and other variations along the way too. Have a look and see what will be coming with this new demo.

Deathbound — Steam Next Fest Demo

Step forth into the Streets of Akratya, consumed by a brutal crusade of zealous faith and cold steel. The remnants of heresy adorn a place once called home by the local population. Now, they may only call it a tomb.

Gather your party and master five characters, each with their own combat style. Learn their strengths and weaknesses, crafting synergies and combinations to fully unlock their potential. You're going to need it.

No matter the belief, creed or position, we all answer to the power of Steel and Magic. Behold a fleeting glimpse at the art of combat in Deathbound.

Deathbound is a Soulslike, Action RPG set in a world where Faith and Science clash. Absorb the essence of fallen warriors to harness their powers and abilities. Survive in a brutal reality where Life and Death were never more conflicted.

Key Features:

  • The Essence - Gain the skills, memories, and identities of fallen warriors throughout the world. Combine their unique personalities and combat styles and switch between them seamlessly.
  • Binding System - The essences you absorb form your party. Deathbound features a robust party system that allows players to craft a playstyle through talent trees. Seamlessly switch between fallen warriors to harness their skills and abilities. Each party member’s affiliation in life will affect their synergy in death.
  • Dynamic Morphing - Unleash the combined powers of fallen warriors with devastating Morphstrikes. Utilize different attack styles to pull off powerful combinations and finishing blows to defeat all who oppose you.
  • Brutal World - Ziêminal is a world that mixes a technological past and a medieval present, home to diverse cultures. The city of Akratya is rich in lore and dangers. Explore a city falling into ruin under the shadow of a grand crusade. From the body-filled streets to arenas and places of worship. With its imposing brutalist architecture and melding of technology, it’s a city bound for oblivion.
  • Unforgiving Monsters - Face challenging enemies crafted to push you to your limits. Their very nature is based on the five stages of grief, with each new encounter commanding the attention of any soul who dares face them.

It could be just me and how I feel about Soulslike titles, but Deathbound does look and feel like quite a few that we have seen before. Some of them are good, according to those who enjoy the genre, and some of them not-so-good. Maybe this is why we are getting a little bit of a demo beforehand, so we can all see how good it is in the early stages. That and most likely to help Deathbound change or add in things for the final build that players might find lacking in the mix of the current state. One cannot go wrong with having free play testers and market research while using the guise of a free demo. That is my take on it all at this point, that is.

Are you going to give Deathbound a solid play for the week that it will be available or will you wait for the full game? Do you see how close this one is to other Soulslike titles out there or am I seeing something that is not really there? When will we lean away from this genre of game or will it just be something that will be an easy moneymaker for developers moving forward in life? Head on down to the comment section to discuss all of this and everything else that we have to offer up to the world out there. We will share anything else that we have for Deathbound very soon, so please keep on checking back for those updates and any others we might have.
