Dead By Daylight Opens Itself Up To The Dark Place Of Alan Wake

Dead By Daylight

The next survivor on the way to Dead By Daylight is Alan Wake so we can better define the fog of Dead By Daylight

It looks as if the rumors were true and Dead By Daylight will be getting another new Survivor for the game. A survivor who has seen all manner of darkness before Behaviour went out there to thrust him into another dark place. One filled with the Fog and all kinds of other Killers. That is right, Alan Wake will be joining the world of Dead By Daylight. Not far off either, as we can see Mr. Wake wander into the game on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC on January 30th. One has to love these fast turnaround times for these announcements to DLC drops out there.

Outside of this announcement that Alan Wake is joining the roster for Dead By Daylight, there is not much else on what the character will bring into the game. In fact, all we have is the announcement of the character and not if any of the Dark Place or Dark Presence will make the jump over too. There is a nice little video making the announcement, but there is no word on whether Alan will have any specific skills that will be useful in the long run of Dead By Daylight either. Just as with many of the other characters, though, we will most likely find out the day before or the day of launch just how they might be shaking things up out there. Given that Alan can reshape reality, I do not think that will be it but I would venture on him having something to do with light and guns.

Dead By Daylight — Alan Wake

From one dark place to another.

Dead By Daylight: Alan Wake. January 30th.

Dead By Daylight is a multiplayer action/horror game where one player takes on the role of a brutal Killer and the other four play as Survivors. As a Killer, your goal is to sacrifice as many Survivors as possible. As Survivors your goal is to work together to evade, escape, and most importantly — stay alive.

Given the basic story going on in Dead By Daylight, this character felt like it was a long time coming. Like a very long time coming but it looks as if they were only able to secure the deal after a massive and successful launch of Alan Wake 2. That would have been a better idea to make this announcement as well while holding off on dropping the character into Dead By Daylight until now. We would not one game to overshadow the other, but it could have pulled more of the DbD crowd into the Alan Wake world back at the height while keeping us all excited for what is still to come. That is how I would have gone about it, but none of that changes the fact we can soon see Alan face off against all manner of other Killers out there.

Did you have a feeling it was only a matter of time before Alan Wake joined Dead By Daylight or was that thought to be impossible? What do you think we will see Alan bring to the game beyond some fun and dynamic story in the mix? Will we see Mr. Scratch make the leap over too or will it only be Alan for the current time? Head into the comment section to discuss all of those thoughts and everything else. We have more for Dead By Daylight always coming out there, so please keep on checking back here for those updates and many more like it.
