TMNT: The Last Ronin Is Fighting Its Way Out To Us Now

TMNT

The darkest of the TMNT stories is getting a video game adaptation with the reveal of TMNT: The Last Ronin

The THQ Nordic updates keep on flowing out there after the massive showcase they just had, and this one is for the recently revealed TMNT: The Last Ronin. Yes, it looks like one of those famed stories from the comics, as well as one of the darker ones, is being retold in a video game format. All from Black Forest Games and on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC when it does finally land. This is the team that recently brought us all the Destroy All Humans remakes, so it feels like it might be time to let them tackle something like the TMNT out there. Just another big IP from many childhoods, even if this story is one that was relegated mainly to the comics.

Not many details or even gameplay for TMNT: The Last Ronin are here, but we have a nice little trailer to help depict some of the darkness. For those that do not know the story, it all takes place in a future where Splinter all of the turtles but Raphael have been killed and things are looking bleak and hopeless. Raph then sets out on a mission of justice and to try to bring some form of balance back to New York after all of this. Honestly, this short description does not do much to depict what is going on for the TMNT here, so it would be worth it to just read the story if you do not want to wait until the video game drops.

TMNT: The Last Ronin — Reveal

Who is the Last Ronin? In a future, battle-ravaged New York City, a lone surviving Turtle embarks on a seemingly hopeless mission seeking justice for the family he lost.

From the minds of the creators of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and based on the best-selling comic book event by Eastman, Waltz, Bishop, Delgado, and the Escorza Brothers: the official video game adaptation of TMNT: The Last Ronin.

Coming to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

I, for one, am excited to see TMNT: The Last Ronin coming into a video game form and for the masses out there. Most only know the Turtles as the fun and cartoony characters that the networks and major studios turned them into. This story is closer to what the creators and writers were originally doing with it all before things went commercial. As long as it stays that way with TMNT: The Last Ronin, I think we will see more fans come in and enjoy what it all has to offer up out there beyond the 80s nostalgia-bait that has been all the rage as of late. Now, I only wish we had some solid gameplay to look at besides the final screenshot in this trailer.

Did you ever expect to see this version of the TMNT given a green light for the masses or did you think it was always going to be the kid-version of it all? Have you read the story of this comic before or will this get you to see what the IP was all originally about before the toys and marketing? Will this be just as bleak in the end or will there be some things changed to see if we can keep more of the story going? Head on into the comment section and let the world know what you are thinking about all of this. We will have more for TMNT: The Last Ronin as soon as we get it here, so please keep on checking in for all of that and many, many more things out there.
