Nintendo Is Taking A Road Trip Out To This Year’s SDCC

Nintendo

Nintendo fans will have more to play out at SDCC with the Nintendo Road Trip making a stop at this year’s con

One of the staples that we have had at SDCC over the years has been Nintendo showing up with all forms of games and giving the con-goers a nice little lounge to take a load off and enjoy some games. This staple is now making its way back by making a stop in San Diego during the current Road Trip event that is about to kick off at the end of the week. That is good news for those that cannot make it to SDCC this year so they can take part in the Nintendo Switch Road Trip too. For now, though, we are going to focus on this one stop as it will most likely be one of the harder ones for everyone to be able to take advantage of and play some good games. Especially with the reservation system starting up on July 15th for those looking to get in on the first day of the stop.

If you are getting all of your plans ready for this huge con, you can mark down that the Nintendo Road Trip stop will take place from July 21st to July 24th from 10 am to 6 pm each day, except for the Sunday, which will end by 4 pm. This will all be set up over in the Petco Interactive Zone down by Petco Park in downtown San Diego, CA. It does not require a pass to the main convention to go, which is where the tricky parts might come in. Starting at 10 am on the 15th, those looking to get in on the Warp Pipe Pass can sign up for the First Come, First Served system. This will speed up the wait you will have to get in to play the various titles Nintendo will have out there on the Switch. That time is only for the first day, though, as each subsequent day will require fans to sign up at 5 pm the day before each of the following days. It is a bit convoluted, but given the massive number of captive audience down there, it will be well worth the time to save if you can.

Please note that registration for the first day of this stop (July 21) will be available at 10 AM local time on July 15. The following days’ registrations (July 22–July 24) will be available starting at 5 PM local time on the evening before each event date.

Did you think that Nintendo was going to skip out on this year's SDCC or does this follow along what you expected? Is it odd to not have a massive ballroom as they have in the past or will this make it easier to cycle more fans through this year? Will you just be aiming to take in one of the other stops along the Road Trip (Chicago, IL, Bethlehem, PA, Raleigh-Durham, NC, Los Angeles, CA, Seattle, WA) instead? Go ahead and let us all know down in the comments what you are planning and then feel free to discuss it all. As more for Nintendo and SDCC come out, we will keep sharing everything with you here. Just be sure to keep checking in for all of that and much, much more.
