Dead By Daylight Has A Few More Projects On The Way Now

Dead By Daylight

New ways to experience Dead By Daylight are in the works with two more projects in the works in the Dead By Daylight IP

The universe of Dead By Daylight looks to be getting slightly bigger out there, as now we have two more projects in the work for the IP. Both of which are here to further build out the universe that Behaviour has built up in the horror genre. Not through a re-telling of stories and events, but in the way of fully new single-player and multiplayer experiences out there. The first project being the one that has my eye a bit closer with Dead By Daylight having been a multiplayer title for so long already. That and it looks as if Supermassive Games is the one behind the new single-player title, so there is also that to get excited for.

This news is still very early on and we do not have much to look at for these new Dead By Daylight projects. In fact, all we have is a nice little video explaining a bit about what will be coming. Like the fact that the Supermassive title will be leaning into their recent style of horror games by giving us a new cast of characters to play through a narrative as we have for many of their other games. Then we have the Midwinter title that is shaping up to be a PvE multiplayer title in the Dead By Daylight setting. More of a team-up title with players fighting for their lives against other entities out there that are not player driven. That one is a little less interesting to me, but it is all still too early to know for now.

Dead By Daylight — Supermassive Games & MidWinter Entertainment Projects

Stephen Mulrooney, Executive Vice President of Digital, Behaviour: “Hi, I’m Stephen Mulrooney, executive vice president of digital at Behaviour Interactive. As someone who’s been on Dead By Daylight since the very beginning, it’s been amazing to see the ways both the game and its community have grown over the past seven years.

“Today, I’m happy to announce we’re gearing up to expand Dead By Daylight beyond our core game. We’ll be giving players more ways into the fog than ever before, even if you’re completely new to the world of Dead By Daylight.

“To bring these new experiences to life, we’re collaborating with some amazing studios, one with experience in multiplayer games and another with expertise in interactive narratives. So with that, let’s hear a little bit more about what they’ve been up to.”

Supermassive Games Project

Steve Goss, Studio Director, Supermassive Games: “We’re obviously all horror fans here at Supermassive and massive fans of Dead By Daylight. Now we’re thrilled to be collaborating with Behaviour on a brand new single-player interactive story game set in the terrifying omniverse of Dead By Daylight.”

Traci Tufte, Executive Producer, Supermassive Games: “We’ve been working hard to blunt the tension, agency, and branching storytelling of a supermassive game together with Dead By Daylight‘s mythology to create an intense narrative experience filled with powerful life or death choices.

“Our game will be set outside the Entity’s realm and feature the story of a new cast of characters who players will follow for an unprecedented experience beyond the fog.

Goss: “This is a whole new way for horror fans to experience Dead By Daylight and we couldn’t be more excited to share it with the world. So stay tuned, we’ll have more to reveal later this year.”

Midwinter Entertainment Project

Mary Olsen, Studio Head, Midwinter Entertainment: “It’s been almost a year since Midwinter joined the Behaviour family to work on a brand new project set in the Dead By Daylight universe.

“One of the things we love most about the world of Dead By Daylight is the infinite possibilities. We thought about the game’s multiplayer action, which we love, and reimagined it in a completely new way.”

Audrey Mladina, Producer, Midwinter Entertainment: “The themes in our game will center around greed and the lust for power. These will be present in both the gameplay itself and in the stories of the characters who were tempted to enter a strange new corner of the Entity’s realms.

“Our vision is to create a multiplayer PvE experience where instead of facing off against each other, up to four players can team up, enter another one of the Entity’s realms, and take on a host of deadly enemies that occupy it.”

Olsen: “This project is still in very early stages. We are really excited about what we’re doing and can’t wait to share more as we go.”

Mladina: “Stay tuned for more.”

Mulrooney: “Seven years in and the world of Dead By Daylight has never felt bigger. I’m so excited that players will have two new ways to explore the Entity’s realm. There’s a lot of work to do before we’ll have more news to share, but just follow Dead By Daylight and we’ll make sure you’re the first to know.”

Do you expect to see a full and multi-pathed story in the mix of Dead By Daylight now or will they try to shake things up with this one? How do you think the PvE game will be truly different or will it be close to what we know with fewer players running around? Will we get to see all of the killers from the IP in there somehow or will those be left to only the core game out there? Take it all into the comment section and then let the world know what you are thinking too. We will show off what else we can find for Dead By Daylight, so please keep checking here for all of that too. At least we know that the IP will keep on going for a long time now.
