When Aliens & Predators Fight, It Sucks To Be Human
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 16th of October 2009 - 04:52 PM ]
Being a lowly space marine seems like the worst thing to be in Aliens Vs. Predator. Just by watching the trailer down below, you get a great sense that most people will only play the Human portion if they are in for a challenge or an Achievement/Trophy whore. I mean come on, the human they show through out the clip is scared poopless the entire clip. To the point where it begs the question right? Then again, I'd be the same way if I was a lowly space marine going up against a retardababy, advanced race of space hunters or even a ridiculously agile and stealthy race of creatures that bleed acid. The game isn't available until the beginning of next month but BioWare is already working on a 2D project slated for sometime in October to wet our appetites. Blood, monsters, and character sheets, all in classic 2D! Dragon Age Journeys: Deep Roads is being created by EA2D, a new studio out of the EA franchise that specializes in flash based games. DJ Hero Renegade 2-CD Pack-in Track List Released
by Brian Bentley [ Thursday, 15th of October 2009 - 11:49 AM ]
Yesterday, Activision released the track listing for the bonus 2-CD pack of Jay-Z and Eminem for the DJ Hero Renegade Edition. As a person who is readily suspicious of special editions and collector's edition, I had my doubts about DJ Hero's special pack-in when I saw that the jump in price from the regular edition was 80 US Dollars. With Wednesday's track listing release for the big addition to the original product and what exactly it will be, it really begs the question if what you're getting is worth the price of admission. Looking at Gamestop's web listing for DJ Hero Renegade Edition, you get: DJ Hero Renegade Edition Includes the following items: DJ Hero Game Renegade Turntable Controller featuring premium metal controls and finish Hardshell Turntable Carrying Case that converts to performance-ready DJ stand Exclusive JAY-Z and EMINEM 2-CD pack featuring unreleased tracks and collectible case designed by artist Shepard Fairey Looking at the track listing of the 2-CD set and being a fan, albeit not a huge stalker-level fan, I was really impressed at what is being included especially a brand new track. I Think Splatterhouse Could Use More Gore
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 14th of October 2009 - 09:25 AM ]
Wow, it's hard to believe it has been over 20 years since the original Splatterhouse came out in arcades and then ported to the TurboGrafx 16. It was only thought to be remade by BottleRocket Entertainment earlier this year. Now it is all being handled by Namco Bandai Games who took on a few of the collapsed developer. But that is a different tale altogether. This one is all about how things have been progressing for Splatterhouse since the shift. Read More...

The Age Of The Dragon Is Drawing Near!
by Corey Dockendorf [ Tuesday, 13th of October 2009 - 04:19 PM ]
As previously announced by the Dragon Age: Origins team, the character builder is finally available for download Here. After spending many hours with this game demo at Comic-con this year, and finally getting to see what I am going to make my "first character" look like is quite exciting. It's a little taste of things to come. Players who download the Character Builder will be able to select everything from Gender to Class and see the talent trees we will have to choose from. I must warn you though, the guys over at Dragon Age really outdid themselves this time. Read More...

Not Just Clashing With The Titans
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 12th of October 2009 - 11:26 AM ]
Ok, so it is no surprise that another movie is getting the video game treatment. This time Clash of the Titans from Legendary Pictures is getting it's very own game based on the original film and the remake that is coming out next year. When you think about it, it could be a decent game, if done in the same epic style as God of War and Dante's Inferno. This is the type of film that brought the epic style to mainstream entertainment and out of your mother's basement. DnD player you know what I'm talking here. Read More...

Review: Mini Ninjas
by Corey Dockendorf [ Monday, 12th of October 2009 - 08:39 AM ]
Let me start out by saying I really enjoyed this game. I was really excited about the game when I first heard about it but as time went on I became concerned it would be too childish. Yes it’s very cartoony and yes when you kill creatures they turn into fuzzy animals, but somewhere in the midst of all that I had a blast playing this game! The game-play is very simple and even the story line is not to complex, so it’s perfect for kids. With that in mind I was highly intrigued by this game. Read More...

Let The Carnage Rain In MUA2
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Saturday, 10th of October 2009 - 11:33 AM ]
While just under a month out, Activision is already thinking about keeping people playing their new action rpg, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2. Maybe you've heard of it, maybe not. My bet is that you have. But that isn't what this article is about here, at least not totally. This is about the fact they are adding in one of the best characters to join the good fight. That character is Carnage. That's right! Read More...

Joe Satriani - "Satch Boogie" Joe Satriani - "Surfing with the Alien" Kansas - "Icarus (Borne on the Wings of Steel)" Kansas - "Point of Know Return" L7 - "Andres" Tim Schafer, who is as much a metal head as your friend in the “Lemmy is god” shirt, had this to say in the current press release: "These are three great songs that totally capture the feeling of Brütal Legend. I can't wait to play them in Rock Band," Tim Schafer said "I've air-drummed to all of them so many times, I'm sure I'll be able to beat them on hard mode, no problem. Read More...

Dante's Inferno Is Making Me Angry
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 9th of October 2009 - 04:33 PM ]
Ok, well not really. It just gets me all warm and fuzzy inside waiting for this game to actually come out. One way the Dante's Inferno Team is doing this is placing out high end developer's diaries. Nothing new as we have been posting them here for you to enjoy and take in. But, damn it, it just needed stating. This month is the month of Anger for the team and video. The below clip show cases a bit of the weapons, melee and magic, that Dante will use as he travels down through the circles of Hell. Read More...

Valve Gives Details On Left4Dead 2 Scavenge Mode
by Brian Bentley [ Friday, 9th of October 2009 - 02:28 PM ]
Yesterday Valve announced a new mode for Left4Dead 2: Scavenge Mode. Scavenge Mode is a competitive mode where the Survivors must fill a generator with cans of fuel while a clock ticks away to the end of the round. Each can of fuel added is one point and added time to the clock, with only the Infected in your path. Much like Versus mode, the opposing team takes the roles of the special/boss Infected in order to stop the Survivors from scoring by any means necessary. When the clock runs out, switch sides and repeat; the highest scoring team wins. Read More...

10,000 Gallons Of Blood To Make Fairytale Fights
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 9th of October 2009 - 12:38 PM ]
While they might have had a bit of backlash with a trophy/achievement for killing 1000 kids, and recently their porn star antics, you would think that Playlogic would have made their trophies/achievements to suit everyone's needs. Well a P.C. minded person might think that way at least. Why won't they think of the children? The answer to that, because this is not your kids fairytale. Proving it further with a bit of their trophies/achievements listed below. Read More...

Nico + Ryu + The Force x Zombies = Platinum
by Kevin [ Thursday, 8th of October 2009 - 04:25 PM ]
That's a heck of a visual isn't it? GTA IV, Street Fighter IV, Star Wars: The Force Unleased, Left 4 Dead, and Saints Row 2 are the latest candidates for the Platinum Hits treatment. A nice line-up to be certain and a great opportunity to jump aboard and experience these titles if you haven't done so already. It seems like the titles were chosen pretty strategically because with several of the games you have either had a) new content announced and coming soon, b) new content released, or c) sequels approaching. In celebration of these latest additions to the Platinum Hits Collection line-up, some retailers are offering a “Buy 2 –Get 1 Free” promotion for XBox Platinum Hits Collection titles. Read More...

Review: Exo-Flex Skins
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 8th of October 2009 - 02:25 PM ]
We as gamers are always looking for a way to stand out and be original so we can be identified in our virtual space. Also most of the time in our real world presence as well. Be it clothing, cosmetics, or skinning and modding our PCs, consoles, and the controllers that go along with them. Sometimes as basic as a few stickers and others as extreme as a full metal shop built Alien case for a PC. But sometimes we gamers either lack the tools or capabilities to build something that expresses our inner selves on our gaming gear. That's where companies like Exo-Flex and their artist step in and offer up full case stickers and decals for us to slap on and be original. Read More...
