E3 Impressions: Left 4 Dead 2
by Ben Brody [ Sunday, 7th of June 2009 - 11:33 PM ]
Let's be honest, while it may be a little early to be talking sequel, all of us that played Left 4 Dead could bet the house that a second incarnation was certain. On November 17th, just 364 days after the first, Valve will release Left 4 Dead 2 for the Xbox 360 and PC. Left 4 Dead 2 takes place during the same zombie outbreak as the first game, but features a new pair of 4 survivors, Rochelle, Coach, Ellis, and Nick. While it wasn't quite clear what the new campaigns were apart from the fact that it will take place in the South US (the game starts in Savannah and ends in New Orleans), Scott Dalton, a level designer on the game, said that more of the story will be explored, including the reason for the outbreak. Valve made sure to fix many complaints of the original game, and tweaks are apparent during the demo. Read More...

E3 Impressions - Wolfenstein
by Brian Bentley [ Saturday, 6th of June 2009 - 01:56 PM ]
There is something unforgettable about the moment you began playing Wolfenstein 3D.  Fast, furious and in your face, this title made an impact that affected the games industry forever.  For many gamers, including myself, it changed the way we played and thought about games, shooters in particular.  Fast forward 17 years and many first player shooters later, Wolfenstein is getting set up to be released by id Software and during this E3, we saw a demonstration focusing on the supernatural aspects of the game.   Once again, you assume the role of BJ Blazkowicz and it is your mission to uncover and stop the Nazi plot to take over the world. Mini Ninjas at E3
by Corey Dockendorf [ Friday, 29th of May 2009 - 08:21 PM ]
To say that I am excited about Eidos' new game Mini Ninjas is an understatement. I think I'm going to get some smoke bombs and adorn my office in samurai swords and kendo armor. One of the games that Eidos' will be debuting as a playable version at E3 is this little gem. Mini Ninjas is the story of a tiny ninja, named Hiro, and his big adventure against an evil warlord, and his quest to save the animals that have been changed into evil samurai, bringing harmony back to the world. From the screen shots it looks like you will be able to navigate through three different characters as well as take control of different animals. There are a few trailers with some game play as well as story and characters on the website. Read More...

We Need Some Support Up Here Now
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 22nd of May 2009 - 12:22 PM ]
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Trailer and Screen Shots When the first game came out, EA was totally trying to show their lighter side with some pretty funny clips and shots from the game. Something that most of us got use to seeing and having a good laugh at to get us excited about the game. For some reason that is unknown to me, it would seem they are going a different route with this one. At least from the start. I'm expecting to see some things like that in the future, but for now, we get some serious stuff. Read More...

The Most Evil Creatures Ever To Kill Anything Cute...
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 21st of May 2009 - 12:07 PM ]
New Overlord II Screenshots and Trailer We know that clubbing baby seals is just bad. They go out in their shiny shirts and order $12 drinks that get something slipped into them so they can be drug home and had unmentionable things done to them. Oh, wait, what? Not that type of clubbing baby seals? Oh, well thanks Codemasters for clearing this up. Your kind make it look a lot more fun. Read More...

Hunter, Survivor, Prey, Which Will You Be?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 20th of May 2009 - 12:18 PM ]
Aliens Vs Predator - Videogame Teaser Trailer What a great tag line for a game that looks absolutely amazing, well from the few screens and short teaser that Sega has just posted up on their blog and YouTube account. But even with it all being just a small glimpse at this game, it looks like it will be even better than the films of the same title. From the looks, it is all in game graphics and effects, although it wouldn't be the first time a game company has pulled the wool over our eyes. Also it could just be my down right glee at seeing that makes me want to believe that. Read More...

Ghostly Multiplayer Madness
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 13th of May 2009 - 07:04 PM ]
Ghostbusters Game Trailer It makes total sense for this game to have a multiplayer aspect to it. Albeit, limited to four people multiplayer, but multiplayer none the less. What fun would it be if you could only have one of the Busters active by a player at a time? Especially with the others possibly being run by an AI that could be poor. Don't need another Sheva incident, if you know what I mean. The below video shows off all the fun madness of the multiplayer, as well as some of the new weapons and enemies for the Ghostbusters world. Read More...

Champions Online For Swingers?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 22nd of April 2009 - 06:58 PM ]
Champions Online Swinging Travel Powers I bet you clicked this thinking that the new MMO from the people that brought you City of Heroes/Villains and Star Trek Online was going with an alternative social game. Don't lie. You know you did. But in all seriousness, if I ever am. There is a new clip out there for you gamers that have been looking forward to the game that was suppose to be Marvel Online originally. The clip shows how they took what worked in the Spiderman games, and most likely brought to the game before the Marvel game got scraped, and make it work in an MMO setting. That's right, you will be able to have swing travel powers in this game. Read More...

What Do You Fight For?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 21st of April 2009 - 02:33 PM ]
Tekken 6 XBox 360 Title Preview: Spring 2009 Trailer Where did all the fighting go in this fighting game? That was something I though after watching the latest trailer for the console version of Tekken 6. I mean watch the trailer and see. There looks to be more going on than just fighting in this fighting game. People with guns, fat guys moving faster than they really should be able too, you get the picture. What this does look like though is that there is the chance there will be more story going on in the game outside of the characters are just getting down and dirty for their own greedy needs. Get Cut Into Thirds
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 14th of April 2009 - 02:00 PM ]
Saw Game Producer Interviewed So now that Konami has been attached to the game as well as some of the screen shots and video popping up, looks like the steam roller for this game has been started. Which is good since it is slated for this October, most likely around when the 6th film is coming out. But little has been brought up on what you are suppose to do in the game. I was thinking little mini-games/puzzles like in Blown Away. Read More...

Play How You Want To Play
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 8th of April 2009 - 06:22 PM ]
More Details On The Secret World Wow that didn't take long for Funcom at all. Just yesterday I brought you a debut trailer for this new MMO stating that there wasn't much else stated about this game outside of the teaser trailer. That and a website that just pretty much showed off said video, and a couple of grayed out images, and a weird countdown in a weird font. But that changes just a bit today. Just released are those images in a color and clearer shot as well as a small overview/fact sheet for the game. Read More...
