I SAW What Game Konami Wanted To Play
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 2nd of April 2009 - 05:21 PM ]
Will Saw be Konami's second great horror franchise? (Plus, first screenshots) This title has been on and off just as much as Ross Perot was in the 1992 ellection. In fact there have been a total of three articles on this site talking about where it is in the process and who has been working on it. Well for you fans of the films and maybe fans of the game, I have some good news for you. Not to mention screens shots to add as well. Konami has picked up the rights to this publish this game, which is actually being designed and developed by Zombie Studios. Read More...

by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 23rd of March 2009 - 01:43 PM ]
Scratch: The Ultimate DJ Game Trailer Now that we have all had a chance to perfect Guitar Hero or Rock Band, here starts the next new wave of at home rhythm games to get us all itching to be the best. Also to hit that market that has yet to be tapped, those people that prefer rap and hip hop over rock and metal. Or just hook us weirdoes up with all genres, 'cause that is just how some of us elite rhythm gamers roll. And keep rollin' rollin' rollin'. Read More...

"There's Something In The Sea"
by Sam [ Friday, 6th of March 2009 - 07:02 PM ]
Take-Two has just released a teaser website for Bioshock 2: Sea or Dreams and are going around town putting up weird posters on the streets to advertise the website, which can be found here.Picture provided by Kotaku reader Dominique:Though the site is new, there isn't much too see on there. You can see a picture of the big daddy doll that was shown in the first teaser trailer of the game, a picture of an "average mens shoe" on the beach and local newspaper articles such as one from February 20th, 1967 titled "LOCAL GIRL VANISHES IN MYSTERIOUS ATTACK" which should give some kind of hint about what to expect in the upcoming game.Still more updates to come. Hopefully we'll get an insight of what to expect in the game or maybe some actual gameplay soon. Read More...

Screen Shots Set To Stun
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 24th of February 2009 - 01:11 PM ]
New Screens For Star Trek Online There has been some more screen shots released into the wild for our consumption for Cryptic's new game Star Trek Online. Nothing really all that ground breaking except for the fact that there are a few more shots that are not of the space scenes of the game. Something that has been kind of rare from the past shots that have snuck out into the wild. I am still kind of curious on exactly how this game will actually look during play. These shots, much like the ones in the past, look a lot like concept shots, but then you can also see how they could be shots from the game. Read More...

In An Underwater City Far Far Away...
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 7th of January 2009 - 01:08 PM ]
Bioshock can 'do a Star Wars', says 2K boss So one thing I hate to see in a franchise, be it a Movie, TV, or Video Game one, is when they make such a huge hit with the first one that they turn around and churn out loads of crap to try and make a quick buck while the franchise is still in the height of popularity. I won't disagree that it isn't a bad way to make money. People will shell out for a sequel thinking it will be as good as the first. Read More...

Challenging BioShock
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 19th of November 2008 - 05:10 PM ]
BioShock PS3 DLC Surfaces Tomorrow So tomorrow, November 20th, those of us that have picked up the PS3 version of BioShock are getting a nice little treat. Exclusive added content for the game on the PSN. The add on is listed below. But there is one thing I find a little off, at least for me, the price point for PS3 users to get this new content. While PS3 BioShock owners will get access to the stuff that was given away to PC and XBox players, these 3 new challenge rooms come for a $10 fee. Might not sound too high, but it is only three new little sections for the game. Read More...

More BS, But The Good Kind
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 24th of October 2008 - 11:02 AM ]
BioShock 2 trailer released, platforms confirmed As posted on here earlier, there is going to be BioShock 2. In fact there was a shaky cam view of the video posted before. But there were no details about the game at all. Well 2K has finally come clean and informed the world of what is going on. It is a real teaser for the new game. But they also let it be known that there will not be such a great delay in platforms that it will be coming out on. What does that mean? Read More...

Google's G1 Android Phone...
by Taylor Rose [ Thursday, 16th of October 2008 - 11:44 AM ]
I know many of Pwned.com's members are, like me, big supporters of Google. I've been highly anticipating the Google G1 Android Phone, and it has finally been announced that the phone will be available in stores on October 22, 2008. What is Android, you might ask? Android is a software platform and operating system that Google developed for mobile devices. Based off of the Linux kernel, it also allows developers to code in a Java-esque syntax: however, it does not provide the full-class libraries/APIS that come with the Java SE or Me, but rather implements the Apache Harmony Java.  Regardless of its seemingly limited functionality, Paul Reddick, CEO of Handmark (a developer of mobile media apps and services for the iPhone, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, and other OSs) thinks Android will "help breed the simple and elegant programs consumers crave". by Sam [ Thursday, 16th of October 2008 - 11:21 AM ]
PS3 owners who have already beaten Bioshock will unlock the teaser trailer for Bioshock 2: Sea of Dreams, coming sometime in the distant future. The video starts off with a little sister, who doesn't seem to be little anymore, holding what would appear to be a Big Daddy Doll staring at the Atlantic Coast. Check out the shaky, crappy quality video below. Read More...

by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 23rd of September 2008 - 11:37 AM ]
The Punisher: No Mercy Coming Exclusively to PSN So there was a tease a week ago on the Marvel site about something with the Punisher franchise. I wasn't too sure what to make of it until I spotted this on the Playstation Blog this morning. There is going to be a PSN exclusive all about the Punisher called, Punisher: No Mercy. Totally awesome. From what they have released, so far, it is a FPS all driven through the Unreal Engine. Read More...

PS3 Gets A Shocking!
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 19th of August 2008 - 04:51 PM ]
BioShock Dated And Given Extras So those of you who have heard the hype about Bioshock but were too lazy to get it on the PC or XBox, or only have a PS3, you might have known that it was getting a PS3 release. Well, today it was dated for the gaming world. That's right, the 21st of October. Not bad timing, except that Dead Space is coming out around the same time. But I doubt that will hurt them any. Especially with the extras being offered for the new PS3 version of the game. Read More...

Set Phasers To MMO
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 28th of July 2008 - 04:59 PM ]
Star Trek Online So I frequent the Cryptic Studios stuff now and again, forums and booths at conventions. Hell, on Saturday, I even went to their VIP party for City of Heroes players and Devs. Please don't ask how it was. But this was something that kind of caught me off guard. In fact, I didn't know it was under their belt until today when they turned on their interwebs for the game sit and posted screen shots. The game? Well the title said it, Star Trek Online. Brett Favre To Be On Cover of Madden NFL '09
by Michael Camacho [ Friday, 25th of April 2008 - 07:18 AM ]
Brett Favre announced at the end of his recent appearance on Letterman that he will be on the cover of Madden NFL '09, the franchise's 20th installment. Brett Favre is a 3 time MVP, a 7 time Pro Bowl selection and 2007's Sports Illustrated Sportsman Of The Year. Favre also lays claim to many NFL records, to include Career Passing Touchdowns (with 442) and Career Passing Yards (with 61,655). This is one of the NFL's greatest honors, but also one of the most cursed for active players as almost all the prior cover athletes have been injured or poor performances during the season they were on the cover. Michael Vick, Donovan McNabb, and Daunte Culpepper are among the few that had season ending injuries while featured on the cover of Madden. Read More...

Enjoy Gaming In 3D
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 27th of March 2008 - 11:57 AM ]
Wii Head Tracking powers new 3D game Not the most creative of titles, but, well...whatever. A long while back, before we had the Narticle section, I posted a bunch of things about the Wii and PS-Eye head tracking systems that people are working on. They were just basic tracking things that would move just some dots or basic targets on the screen depending on where your head is. The Wii had a set of glasses for this. They looked very clunky and a lot like the old VR goggles of yore. Read More...
