Hell Or Rapture?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 18th of September 2009 - 12:48 PM ]
Damn you 2K and EA! Damn you both to Tartarus! Jokingly that is. But you both have made my February and thus Valentines Day/Desperation Day much more stressful than I was hoping for. Hopefully the little lady will understand why I am glued to my PS3 and PC. First Dante's Inferno and now BioShock 2 on 2/9/10. That's right. Just announced, BioShock 2 will be out simultaneously on all three platforms on the ninth day of February in our Lords 2010th year. Read More...

Review: Section 8
by Ben Brody [ Tuesday, 15th of September 2009 - 09:45 AM ]
At first glance, Section 8 looks like a Halo wannabe. At second glance it looks like a Tribes wannabe. At third glance it looks like a Battlefield wannabe. I'm not saying that a game that plays like those 3 games would be bad (heck, it'd probably be the best online shooter ever), but Section 8 seems to be lackluster in areas that each of those 3 game excelled in. The problem with that is while that Section 8 may be a solid game, the fact is that people are going to be playing the other 3 games that it is trying to emulate. Section 8 is a multiplayer only game, don't be fooled by the Corde's story campaign mode, it's basically a glorified bot mode with some random bits of story thrown about. Read More...

Hey Look At Me! I'm Climbing A Bridge!
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 26th of August 2009 - 04:23 PM ]
The Saboteur Screen Shots So The Saboteur tried to sneak by with a quiet showing of the game. Either because they were drowned out by al the Blizzcon news and other GamesCom news that was all a flutter. But you know what? We at AggroGamer here caught these sneaks trying to get past everyone's view. We caught the game in action here and we caught it red handed. Climbing, driving and sneaking on the peripherals of everyone's views. Read More...

Pyro Studios Making A New Commandos Game!
by Corey Dockendorf [ Tuesday, 25th of August 2009 - 11:16 AM ]
Well it's about time...Pyro Studios, creators of the famed Commandos series, is set to release a new Commandos game more in line with the first title in this WWII strategy franchise. How many of you recall the critically low scoring FPS shooter that was Commandos: Strike Force? Yeah, even Pyro Studios was less than enthusiastic about the title. Well, players will be happy to know that this time around they are going to be bringing back all the tactical gameplay that players knew and loved. No word as to how much Commandos publisher Eidos will be involved. Read More...

The Race For The Crown Has Begun! Fable 3 Announced!
by Corey Dockendorf [ Thursday, 20th of August 2009 - 10:49 AM ]
After a viral marketing scheme by LionsHead Studios, we finally see what all the hub-bub was about. If you haven't been watching, the LionsHead website has been showing leaders of our time (Abraham Lincoln for example) and quotes underneath each one followed by a number. The numbers were counting down each day until today. Today also happens to be the opening day for GamesCom 2009. LionsHead Studios officially announced Fable 3 as well as posted the new trailer today. Read More...

Can't Gamers Play With Themselves Anymore?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 13th of August 2009 - 03:48 PM ]
Multiplayer: The Book Burning Generation The other night I was driving home at 1 am with the God of War soundtrack playing in the car. As the game music, with mixed in audio clips from the game, was playing through my car speakers, I began to think on how truly epic the story of this game was. Not epic as in awesome, even though it is, but more in lines of how it actually fell in line with the Epic writings of the Greeks. Think the Odyssey and Iliad for what I mean. It soon sparked in my head on how games like this are looking to be a bit more few and far between in the current state of things. Read More...

by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 11th of August 2009 - 07:02 PM ]
Announcing a BioShock 2 Pre-Order Bonus It was rumored all over the internet over the last week or so that everyone's "favorite" pre-order store, GameStop, was getting exclusive DLC for the multiplayer part of the game. Well at least that was one of the rumors abound the net. But it was one of the more solid ones. Especially since The Cult of Rapture, BioShock 2's official website, just announced that it is true. With pictures of the concepts to boot. Read More...

Screen Shots Like Tribbles
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 30th of July 2009 - 05:52 PM ]
53 Shots From Star Trek Online Just when you think things are about to go quiet and cold for the elusive Star Trek Online, a plethora of things come flying out from Cryptic. It almost seems like they really did have an invasion of tribbles that somehow mingled with their screen shots and just kept multiplying. They have gone from releasing just a few shots with numbers of around 6 to the 53 that you will see below. Either that or their PR team has been sitting on these since before E3 and just now thought, "Maybe we should release them now. Read More...

Take Two Made My Little Sister Late
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 14th of July 2009 - 01:44 PM ]
Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. Provides Financial Update This makes me very sad to say, but it looks like the original release date of Late October of this year is no longer for BioShock 2. In fact a solid release date is no longer anywhere attached to BioShock 2 any more. Just a time frame. A year long time frame at that too. With only the excuse of needing to take extra time to give towards development time for the title. This places the sequel around 3 years after the original release on the PC and XBox and only 2 years since the PS3 launch. Read More...

Review: Punisher No Mercy [PSN]
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 9th of July 2009 - 05:43 PM ]
MERCY!? You Want MERCY! I'm Chaotic Neutral! When the Unreal 3 Engine and game came to market, many of us looked at it in awe with the power it game developers and modders to make their own visually stunning FPS games. Other genres can work with it too, but it is totally an FPS engine. One thing I always though would do great was to have a shooter with some of the better of the licensed superhero characters of comic fame. Granted, Punisher was not the absolute first to come time mind for some reason, but it was the top three ideas I thought of. It was also an idea that Zen Studios came up with and make work extremely well with Punisher: No Mercy. Read More...

The Punisher Doesn't Do Mercy
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 23rd of June 2009 - 07:22 PM ]
‘THE PUNISHER: NO MERCY’ BRINGS DEATH AND DESTRUCTION TO THE PLAYSTATION®NETWORK With Transformers giving you the explosions and fireworks to start of the 4th of July (United States Holiday), ZEN Studios figured they would give PSN users the Bang. Yes, that was a bad stretch to get this worked in, but who cares what you think?* It worked for a good lead into what this is all about. Before you skip on to read the release below, let me sum it up for you. Read More...

38 Studios Acquires Big Huge Games
by Brian Bentley [ Wednesday, 27th of May 2009 - 05:48 PM ]
Today it was announced that 38 Studios acquired Big Huge Games.  38 Studios is the studio that was started by now-retired professional baseball player Curt Schilling who is also an admitted World of Warcraft addict.  Founding 38 Studios to create an “Online Entertainment Experience,” Schilling and his team have been working on this new fantasy MMOG, currently entitled Copernicus, since 2006. I know at this point you’re rolling your eyes at another fantasy MMORPG, and frankly, I don’t blame you.  Instead let’s look at how Schilling, a World Series Champion and fairly well-known and popular person in the US, bought into the industry to bring a quality product for the masses to enjoy. by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 8th of May 2009 - 01:10 PM ]
2K Games Reveals First Details Of The BioShock® 2 Multiplayer Experience No, it's not a new game being built off the franchise. Although I could see it. Wait, a second. Bioshock MMO ™ There, now I claimed the idea. But in all seriousness, after reading some of the features the new multiplayer mode will contain, you try and not let your mind wander down that path. 4Chan Eroge Title Katawa Shoujo Releases Demo
by Michael Camacho [ Sunday, 3rd of May 2009 - 06:04 PM ]
A group of 4Chan /a/ regulars have decided to step away from posting memes and get into Eroge/Hentai game creation. It began in 2007 when an anonymous posting of Doujin work by Raita focusing on character designs for a dating sim revolving around Crippled characters. The lightbulb went off and the small group banded together to bring that idea to reality. Once a dedicated team was fully assembled, they created Four Leaf Studios and began their work. Here is the official description of the game: Katawa Shoujo is a bishoujo-style visual novel set in the fictional Yamaku High School for disabled children, located somewhere in modern Japan. Harvest Or Adopt?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 23rd of April 2009 - 12:49 PM ]
More Screens For Bioshock 2 To be honest, I wish there was more to talk about when it comes to this upcoming sequel for Bioshock. I really do, but they are keeping things a little close to the chest. Including showing a fake level that won't make it into the game just to show off the visuals of the game. But you know what, does it matter? We have new views of this game. Read More...
