by Brian Bentley [ Thursday, 28th of July 2011 - 04:01 PM ]
Nintendo recently announced that on August 12th, they will be reducing the price of the Nintendo 3DS from its original lofty $249.99 to $169.99 - a dramatic decrease. The most likely reason being they've sold less than a million units since the 3DS made its retail debut in North America at the end of March. Besides the high price, the 3DS had a few other things going against it: poor software library, no internet browser, lack of an online virtual store and the thrill over 3D is waning some in the general populace. Still, it all comes down to dollars and sense. Read More...

360 Pro Gets The Boot
by Ben Brody [ Thursday, 6th of August 2009 - 07:25 PM ]
As the prophecy foretold, the XBOX 360 Pro was going away. Now we have pictures, not too shabby ones either. As you can plainly see in the image, the information on the box no longer lists the Pro in the comparison sheet. This jives with the reports back in June that Microsoft was looking to replace the Pro with the Elite, shaving the Pro from the lineup. The prophecy, also spoke of another fate for the 360: a September price drop. While this may not seem necessary as the 360 is already the cheapest current-gen system available, it would make sense as who would buy a Pro for $299. Read More...

by Binh Nguyen [ Friday, 26th of June 2009 - 02:21 PM ]
So everyone has been reading since E3 that Sony has no plans for a price drop. Activision's CEO, Bobby Kotick, laid down the hammer on Sony last week encouraging that Sony needs to consider dropping the price on the PS3 or else they could see a full-stop on Activision games for the PS3. Can I see a raise of hand who thinks the PS3 is still over priced? *raises hand*Well this week in Australia it seems the Target stores care cleaning house on the 40 gig model PS3 the sale price is 199 AUD (160 USD). This price drop was first discovered unadvertised by the Whirlpool forums. Read More...

Price Drop on the 360 for the UKers?
by Andy [ Saturday, 13th of September 2008 - 04:03 AM ]
So it seems that Microsoft/Woolworths has decided to drop the price for all of you UKers. This isn't 100% positive until the actual flyer comes out of course, but it would definitely make sense that they did, considering they dropped the price for the US and Japan. So now all of you who thought the xbox was too pricey may have to speak another tune. Hell, if you have an old version, you might as well upgrade to a nice elite. Read More...

Slashing Prices Like Jason Voorhees
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 4th of March 2008 - 05:15 PM ]
Annalist think there will be another Price cut for the PS3 It is nothing official announced by Sony at all, but looking at it from a financial stand point, it makes sense. They have been trying to break even on the cost of production and advertisement costs that they have already paid. Hence the high price at launch, and really right now as well. But with the announcement of Blu-Ray being the new video format and the fact that there are a bunch of new bundles coming, they should be in the green very soon. Which brings us to why the price cut.
