Check Out The Insane Wolfenstein: The New Order E3 Trailer Right Now
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 7th of June 2013 - 03:36 PM ]
By now we all know the premise behind Wolfenstein: The New Order. The Nazis got the bomb first and ended up winning WWII because of it and William "B.J." Blazkowicz, AKA you, are given the orders to try and take down the Nazi powers that be. Standard affair if I do say so myself outside of the super tech that the Nazis have at their disposal. Wouldn't it be fun to step away from that "standard affair" and have a look at what could have been if this was true history? In the below trailer that is just what Machine Games and Bethesda have done. Read More...

Wolfenstein Review
by Ben Brody [ Saturday, 29th of August 2009 - 11:42 AM ]
Perhaps it's a little to old for some of you younger gamers out there, but Wolfenstein has always had a place in my heart. Wolfenstein 3D revolutionized the FPS genre, and while Wolfenstein doesn't have as much of an impact on the video game industry as Wolfenstein 3D did, it is certainly a fun filled game. The game is a sequel to Return to Castle Wolfenstein, which was released for the PS2, PC, and XBOX in 2001, and stars William “BJ” Blackowitz, who was the protagonist in the previous Wolfenstein games. While Wolfenstein departs from many of the nostalgic elements that RTCW had, it keeps the main tradition of Wolfenstein alive: Supernatural Nazis are trying to take over the world. Read More...

Wolfenstein For Free?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 12th of August 2009 - 10:50 PM ]
Lead Designer at Raven Software Offers To Pay For Wolfenstein In a stroke of what could be seen as marketing genius, or insane offerings by an over worked designer, the offer has been thrown out to get your copy of Wolfenstein paid for. All offered by the game's Lead Designer, Manveer Heir, over his Twitter account in the early hours of the morning on the 11th of August. There are a few catches that go along with this, but he swears he will pay for your copy if all the requirements are met. What would those requirements be? Read More...

Wolfenstein to Sponsor Premiere of Inglorious Basterds
by Brian Bentley [ Tuesday, 28th of July 2009 - 10:36 PM ]
Who better to sponsor a premiere of a movie about killing Nazis than a video game franchise that wrote the book on killing Nazis?  Today, Activision and id Software announced the sponsorship of the "Inglorious Basterds" premiere by the also soon-to-be-released Wolfenstein.  Also included is a contest in conjunction with GameStop with a prize that includes airfare, accommodations, tickets to the premiere and admission to the after-party.  The contest begins today and must be really short considering the premiere at Grauman's Chinese Theater is August 10.  I shouldn't really encourage you to sign up for the contest as I have visions of sitting next to Diane Kruger. Get Assassinated In A Hospital
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 19th of June 2009 - 05:05 PM ]
Two New Wolfenstein Trailers Hospitals for some are just creepy places to be. People laying in "death beds," sharp medical instruments everywhere, creepy doctors or patients wandering about, and the ever draining of ones life force, money. So it makes sense that when you want to place a creepy scene or level in a game, you would choose an environment like this to give that real creep factor to the players. Raven Software, not wanting to skip on this for Wolfenstein, have placed another version of the Hospital level in a game. This time with Nazis and demonic powered soldiers. Read More...

E3 Impressions - Wolfenstein
by Brian Bentley [ Saturday, 6th of June 2009 - 05:56 PM ]
There is something unforgettable about the moment you began playing Wolfenstein 3D.  Fast, furious and in your face, this title made an impact that affected the games industry forever.  For many gamers, including myself, it changed the way we played and thought about games, shooters in particular.  Fast forward 17 years and many first player shooters later, Wolfenstein is getting set up to be released by id Software and during this E3, we saw a demonstration focusing on the supernatural aspects of the game.   Once again, you assume the role of BJ Blazkowicz and it is your mission to uncover and stop the Nazi plot to take over the world. May 5, 1992: Wolfenstein 3-D Shoots the First-Person Shooter Into Fame
by Aaron BlueWolf72 Molloy [ Tuesday, 6th of May 2008 - 01:56 PM ]
1992: Id Software releases Wolfenstein 3-D, and it launches a huge computer-game category.  Wolfenstein 3-D may not have been the very first "first-person shooter," as the genre came to be known, but it was by far the most successful. What fond memories of Wolfenstein 3-D.  To be that young again and PWNED.com wishes you a Happy 3-D Day!   Players in the game assume the role of an American commando battling Nazis and their supernatural servants.
