See How The Climb Is Aimed To Be More Realistic Than We Thought
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 5th of February 2016 - 01:00 PM ]
The Climb A new developer diary for The Climb has been released and it shows off some of the ways that the developer is trying to make The Climb the most realistic climbing sim to date A few months back we first caught wind of The Climb as it began its development cycle. This would be the new rock climbing simulator that Crytek is working on to give us all a nice new experience to have with the Oculus Rift. For the most part The Climb sounds just like the title makes the game sound. You are setting out on various "climbs" in the VR setting using your own abilities to spot handholds and click buttons to grab onto ledges. Read More...

CES 2016 Hands On â Oculus Rift & Oculus Touch
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 11th of January 2016 - 01:00 PM ]
Oculus While at CES 2016 I was able to play with the Oculus Rift & Oculus Touch in a more intimate setting than just a video. Here's my take on the Oculus Rift & Oculus Touch Obviously one of the big items around CES 2016 was the Oculus Rift; especially since it went up for pre-order and all of the new details cropped up just at the beginning of the show. That of course led to a whole lot of debate on if the Oculus Rift was going to be worth the $600 price tag out the door or if it was going to be another overpriced gizmo with a lot of buyer's remorse. This led me to take over the job of checking out the hardware of the Oculus Rift and Oculus Touch controllers to see if the price point made sense for where the system is now or if, like I said, it was something that could be left behind. CES 2016 Hands On â Until Dawn: Rush Of Blood
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 8th of January 2016 - 01:00 PM ]
Rush Of Blood While At CES I Was Able To See Until Dawn: Rush Of Blood In A More Intimate Setting Than Just The Trailer. Here's My Take On Until Dawn: Rush Of Blood It was only announced a few months ago but Until Dawn: Rush Of Blood was one of the huge titles on display at CES 2016 in Sony's VR section of their booth. PlayStation didn't have a huge section this year but this Supermassive Games spin off from the main title was one of the bigger things for the PS4 and PlayStation VR here. Lines were up to an hour and a half long to play the ten minute demo of Until Dawn: Rush Of Blood and I braved it just for you so I could let you know how the game is shaping up for all of us. Pre-orders are now live over on their site and we now have a price and an expected release window for this year. That would be sometime around the end of March or early April depending on who you hear from. As of this writing mine is stating that it will ship in April of 2016 but I have seen others claim sometime in March. Read More...

Wonder Not As To What Titles The PlayStation Experience Will Offer
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 13th of November 2015 - 03:00 PM ]
PlayStation The list of video games on hand at this year's PlayStation Experience have been unveiled with a few more saved for when the PlayStation Experience is in full swing There are only a few more weeks until the PlayStation Experience kicks off this year in San Francisco and some are still out on if they should make the trip to see what Sony and PlayStation have to offer us all. There of course will be developer panels and the standard keynote for all to look forward to, but what will be on the floor for us all to play and "experience?" That is what the PlayStation Experience is all about and with December 5th and 6th quickly coming up; gamers need to make their plans. Read More...

Hells, some even went as far as petitioning Supermassive Games to get some form of VR support in the game with the PlayStation VR. Wouldn't you know that at the Paris Games Week media briefing such a thing was announced in the way of Until Dawn: Rush Of Blood. A completely new experience looking to expand everything we loved about Until Dawn further on the PS4. Read More...

In The Void Of Adrift Only You Can Hear The Oxygen Leaving The Lungs
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 19th of October 2015 - 05:00 PM ]
Adrift New gameplay for Adrift has made its way online and it shows off a bit of gameplay and what it feels like in Adrift to run out of oxygen I believe this is the first time we have brought the first-person, interactive fiction game of Adrift up on the site before but that doesn't mean it hasn't been on our radar since it was first announced by Three One Zero. For those who don't know what Adrift is, outside of the genre description before, it is a story game that has us in space experiencing what it may be like for those who want to be up there. It is coming to the PS4, Xbox One, and PC with VR support sometime next year thanks to 505 Games for publishing Adrift. Read More...

The VR Zombie Apocalypse Starts With Arizona Sunshine
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 22nd of May 2015 - 06:00 PM ]
Arizona Sunshine has been announced and is looking to bring us all into our first major zombie survival experience utilizing VR technology It had to come sometime and just like the inevitable zombie apocalypse we all are hoping for Arizona Sunshine is doing just that only in a virtual way. More virtual than any of the other zombie outbreak titles in the past as Arizona Sunshine is utilizing SteamVR on the HTC Vive. Yes it is going to be a PC zombie game where you will have to survive being in the mix of things and not safely on your couch. Well at least not AS safely on your couch as Arizona Sunshine is still a video game and not a true zombie outbreak. Read More...

Looks Like We Will Be Able To Facebook Stalk With The Oculus Rift Soon
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 26th of March 2014 - 05:01 PM ]
Facebook is set to purchase Oculus for around two billion dollars. What does this exactly mean though? It was announced yesterday that Facebook has reached an agreement to purchase Oculus VR, the makers of the Oculus Rift headset, for about two billion dollars. Not all in cash mind you. Only $400 million of that will be in "cash" the rest of the $1.6 billion in Facebook stock. That is all upfront as well as $300 million more is offered if Oculus VR can hit certain milestones that are still yet to be defined at the writing of this article. Read More...

by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 25th of March 2014 - 03:00 PM ]
A new trailer and screen shots for a PC/Oculus Rift title called The Forest have come from the mist. It really reminds me of Don't Starve… Sometimes it really bothers that I miss other amazing looking games like The Forest while covering other titles out there. But I caught it and now it is time to bring you all what I have found and how exciting it looks. So, let us take a look at The Forest. Read More...

This Week In Gaming 3/17/14 â 3/21/14
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 21st of March 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Gaming. Talk about an exciting week in gaming. It was to be expected given the fact that GDC was happening this week and I feel bad that we couldn't cover every aspect of gaming in the news here. At least we covered quite a bit on the VR that was all the rage, including Project Morpheus from Sony. We also got to hear about a rumored Assassin's Creed title that was later officially announced as Assassin's Creed Unity. On top of that it looks like we are also getting a new version of Gauntlet too. Read More...

Spectre Looks Like Stay Alive But For Real
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 18th of March 2014 - 05:02 PM ]
Here is some new footage of Spectre, a Kickstarter virtual reality horror multiplayer game using the Oculus Rift. Looks like it could be creepy… It's hard to believe that it has only been eight years since the film Stay Alive came out and there really hasn't been a video game made to try and copy it. Even as I write this article I have yet to hear of anything. That was until I heard about a new game called Spectre. Read More...

Brett Favre To Be On Cover of Madden NFL '09
by Michael Camacho [ Friday, 25th of April 2008 - 07:18 AM ]
Brett Favre announced at the end of his recent appearance on Letterman that he will be on the cover of Madden NFL '09, the franchise's 20th installment. Brett Favre is a 3 time MVP, a 7 time Pro Bowl selection and 2007's Sports Illustrated Sportsman Of The Year. Favre also lays claim to many NFL records, to include Career Passing Touchdowns (with 442) and Career Passing Yards (with 61,655). This is one of the NFL's greatest honors, but also one of the most cursed for active players as almost all the prior cover athletes have been injured or poor performances during the season they were on the cover. Michael Vick, Donovan McNabb, and Daunte Culpepper are among the few that had season ending injuries while featured on the cover of Madden. Read More...
