Beastiary Legal In Final Fantasy XIV
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 8th of October 2009 - 06:16 PM ]
Ok pervert, I know what you thought when you first clicked in here. No, boning animals is not going to be in Final Fantasy XIV. It still got you to look in here to check out the shots of the creatures that you will be slaying in the game. So technically you will be giving them the bone, but not in the legal issue way that you may have been thinking. So there. These shots do look like Square Enix is dead serious in giving what people have come to expect from them: a visually stunning game. Read More...

The Love Child Of Square Enix & Pop Cap Games
by Corey Dockendorf [ Thursday, 24th of September 2009 - 05:12 PM ]
At TGS Square Enix announced today, their new Puzzle/RPG named Gyromancer. It's basically a highly addictive Bejewled PopCap game with the RPG fantasy twist from the best in the business. Gyromancer will be available for XBox 360 as well as Steam. Both PopCap and Square Enix have collaborated before, in Japanese games, but this is more of a creative avenue for both teams. Gamers will play a Sorcerer of the Godseye, named Rivel, and traverse through ten different stages, collecting powerful beasts to summon throughout the adventure. Pokemon? Read More...

TGS Fantasies Are Given
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 24th of September 2009 - 03:41 PM ]
As was to be expected in the Final Fantasy Fan capital of the world, Japan, and at the game show specifically in their location, Tokyo Game Show, there is some new eye candy for the franchise. All in the form of shots of the specific Final Fantasy bundled PS3 and a nice shiny new game trailer for Final Fantasy XIV. Something to get the salivary glands overworking for us all that couldn't make TGS yet still wanted to see something from Square Enix. The themed PS3, seen below, is a bit "girlie" if I do say so. Wii HD? Head Of Square Enix Spills The Beans
by Corey Dockendorf [ Monday, 21st of September 2009 - 01:02 PM ]
Well well well, Looks like the rumors are now leaking from the higher up's. During a Fincanial Times interview at the Tokyo Game Show with Yoichi Wada- President of Square Enix, he mentioned that the three platforms (XBox 360, PlayStation3, and Wii) will join the same playing field by 2011. He expects Nintendo will release the new Wii that year which could contain similar features (see HD) as it's competing consoles. Also he made mention of a possible new controller scheme for the Wii system. Since he was in a chatty mood, he also spoke about the rival systems and their adaptation of Motion sensing technology, saying that “Present game machines already have a lot of functions: they are a network terminal, a Blu-ray or DVD player, and a gaming machine. Calling In FFXIII Shots
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 28th of August 2009 - 06:12 PM ]
And look, they were called in. Well at least seven of them. Seven glorious new looks at this highly anticipated game that seems to be forever off on the horizon; teasing all of us in North America or pretty much anywhere that isn't Japan since they do get it this Winter. Those damn Japanese*. These screens show off a little bit of the CGI that Square-Enix is well known for, as well as some of the in-game stuff and combat system. The aesthetics are something that has yet to let me down in any way for this game. I just really hope that the storytelling aspect of the game isn't being hurt at all because they are spending months trying to get the shine and opacity looking perfect in the ice levels. Wii DLC for the Week of 3/2
by Brian Bentley [ Tuesday, 3rd of March 2009 - 10:58 PM ]
After a big week last week releasing four games, Nintendo gears back down to its normal conservative self.  This week in Wii DLC we have a game for everyone and a game for one.  For everyone in your household we have Gammick Entertainment's Family&Friends Party.  After searching their site extensively and finding no trace of the game, I had to rely on on Nintendo's exciting trailer.  You may not have family or friends to play with when they find out you spent 1,000 Wii Points on this game.On the flip side of the coin, on Virtual Console, is another Square Enix RPG from the Super NES days: Ogre Battle: The March of the Black Queen. Check Out These New Final Fantasy XIII Screenshots + Translations
by Sam [ Tuesday, 3rd of March 2009 - 12:02 PM ]
As we start to enter March, Square Enix continues to tease us with more in game screen shots from the upcoming Final Fantasy XIII. Below are just a couple pictures found on the Famitsu website and under each picture was a description that I just went ahead and translated them to understand what is being said about each picture."[kokun] is ruled to be restrained by the troop of the “saintly prefecture”, the people whom it has been about to be banished to pulse. That they probably will be rescued, those where you stand up, are the young people who are called Nora. Read More...

Squenix Again Teases FFVII
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 2nd of May 2008 - 04:44 PM ]
Crisis Core: Interviewing Yoshinori Kitase Let me drag the dead horse back out and get my big 11 foot pole. Because I am totally going to keep beating it. Not that I was the first too, but damn it, I'm going to continue the good work. Yes those rumors of a Final Fantasy VII remake are back in circulation again. This time pulled from an interview based around Crisis Core. As you will read below and on the actual interviewer's page, there is a lot of talk about the pre-quels and such, but then the question gets popped again. Read More...

Privileges For Those Who...
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 20th of March 2008 - 01:50 PM ]
Pre-Register with Squenix Members This is for all you die hard Squenix fans. Looks like they are opening up their Member program in the States next week. On the 24th to be exact. As of right now, they are letting those in the know to register their names and accounts to this service. Kind of to let those fans get first crack at their Usernames and such before it goes fully live. Already snagged up Hades on there if anyone was thinking of sniping it from me. :) There is no full word on what exactly will be coming with the Membership program. Read More...
