Obsidian Entertainment Developing Next Dungeon Siege
by Corey Dockendorf [ Tuesday, 8th of June 2010 - 10:54 AM ]
It's been a while since I was truly excited about a game announcement, but this one is pretty exciting! Dungeon Siege 3 has been announced for NOT ONLY PC, but XBox 360 and PS3 as well. According to the press release, Dungeon Siege 3 will have Square Enix (Final Fantasy) on board as Editor, and Obsidian Entertainment (Neverwinter Nights 2, Knights Of The Old Republic) as the Developer, with Gas Powered Games (Dungeon Siege 1/2, Supreme Commander 1/2) supervising the whole process. So let's recap. Probably one of the best dungeon crawlers is being re-done in HD format across multiple platforms by some very powerful companies in the gaming industry. Read More...

Get A Glimpse Of 2027 From Deus Ex
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 4th of June 2010 - 07:02 PM ]
Want a glimpse into the future? Or at least a thought of how the future might be in the next 17 years? Then do we have something awesome for you. A look at how the world might look in 2027 from Eidos Montreal and Square Enix in the form of the new trailer for Deus Ex: Human Revolution. You know the title that has been getting the "secret" type treatment to build up to this. Now just like other concepts of the near future this is one that I can see working and hopefully not to far off. I mean, Demolision Man was way off and 1984 came and went. Read More...

Kane & Lynch Bring Childhood Games Back
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 28th of May 2010 - 11:24 AM ]
Remember when you were younger, more innocent and you use to play Cops and Robbers with all of your neighbors and school friends? Those were good times. Running around pointing fingers like fake guns, or using NERF™ guns. Swapping sides when caught stealing whatever little toy you had placed out there. Gods those were good times. Then we all grew up. The Beauty Of Final Fantasy XIV
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 25th of May 2010 - 09:51 AM ]
Now I was not a big fan of Final Fantasy XI. Maybe it was the grind. Maybe it was the lack of people that I like to play with. Maybe it was the lower end graphics for the game. At least lower end to my high standards. Yes I am a graphics prima donna now. I have been spoiled by the "next gen" consoles and higher end PC graphics for too long. Well at least now due to online socializing and the below new screen captures of Final Fantasy XIV, it looks like two of the above three issues I had will be taken care of. At least if these are in game shots, most likely, and not pre-rendered from an intro clip or cut scene type clips. Read More...

Bruce Willis Is All Over Kane An Lynch
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 13th of May 2010 - 03:06 PM ]
Now correct me if I am wrong, but isn't this latest multiplayer mode for Kane and Lynch 2 look extremely close to the story of Die Hard With A Vengeance? Take a team down a section of a subway tunnel and through a hole you've made to steal money from a bank. Sounds pretty damn close, if you take out all the other mind games from the film. Looks like Bruce Willis is getting a small homage in the game for playing the balding Kane in the film version of the franchise. Or I could just be looking into this a bit more than is needed. 10 Things You Ought To Know: Final Fantasy XIII
by Brian Bentley [ Tuesday, 11th of May 2010 - 02:18 PM ]
It has been two months since the release of Final Fantasy XIII on the PlayStation 3 and XBox 360. Some – including myself – were among the many people who began playing on release day, just clamoring for the return to the Final Fantasy series. Meanwhile, others lost interest in the game or are saving the experience in order to play titles that were released around the same time (read: God Of War III). I’ve compiled a list of things to remember about the game as you ready yourself for a 60+ hour dive into this mammoth role playing game. The voice acting is not movie quality. Read More...

Kane And Lynch Take A Look At Arcade Modes
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 5th of May 2010 - 06:39 PM ]
So have you been curious on how the multiplayer aspect of Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days is going to look? Or have you been curious on how it will actually be implemented through story or any other way? Well ponder not so much any more. We have a new look at the multiplayer for Kane and Lynch 2. One of which is a very fun descriptive, and audio non-safe for work, clip describing what is going on. While I am not a big fan of multiplayer in games, in fact I think it can ruin a game in some cases, the multiplayer for Kane and Lynch looks like an interesting twist. I mean, your allies and team mates can turn on you at any moment if I heard and saw that right in the clip here. Read More...

Nier Is Teaching Us To Fear Books
by Andy [ Thursday, 15th of April 2010 - 01:26 PM ]
After watching the launch trailer for Nier, seen below, I will say that if this was all I knew of the game, I could see it as a story of Bibliophobia. That is the fear of books to the layperson. Why would this be now? Well the entire trailer shows how books have somehow gained enough power to destroy the world and attack young children. It says it right in the trailer too. "Forbidden Pages Lead Him Onto A Path Of Destruction. Read More...

Take A Glimpse Into Final Fantasy XIV
by Kevin [ Thursday, 17th of December 2009 - 10:27 AM ]
Well, the beta test application site for Final Fantasy XIV has opened up, and while the beta may only be for the PC, it is a great chance for those interested to poke around in what could be a fantastic MMO experience. For the curious, the requirements are: Be at least 18 years of age Possess a Square Enix ID account (Register for a Square Enix ID account here, if you don't have one already) Possess an internet connection Be capable of downloading large amounts of data Be capable of submitting bug reports in either Japanese, English, French, or German Like any other beta test, there will be several waves and opportunities to enter the beta so don't be discouraged if you don't make it in initially. For those looking for the PS3 experience, it seems that will be revealed "at a later date." Despite that, 2010 is going to be the year for this game's release, and I, for one, am excited. So the announcement was made for when we would all get to have the fun the Japanese and importers will get here in a few weeks. But is there more of what the game will look like outside of the little the video clip showed us all? There really wasn't and it was starting to look like we would have to wait to see some until after the 17th of December. Well don't worry at all now, we have 33 new shots of what the game will look like for those Japanese and importers. The eventually us in Norther America and Europe. Read More...

Kane & Lynch, Bowling In Shanghai, And Naked
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 18th of November 2009 - 03:55 PM ]
Finally some of the rumors about this game can be put to rest. Mainly the one if it was even going to be made. Let alone the entirely nude level. The one rumored where our two pals run around completely in their birthday suits. Yea, that's right. Nekkidness. All of that aside, how did Square Enix and IO Interactive clear up these rumors? Well by straight out announcing the game for a 2010 release window through two video, seen below. The naked level being quasi-confirmed via the videos as well. Read More...

When Does Final Fantasy XIII Come Out?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 13th of November 2009 - 11:23 AM ]
So we were all promised a big announcement from Square Enix about Final Fantasy XIII today (11/13/09). I'm sure we all figured it would drop out to us sometime later in the day. Like near the close of the day. But surprise surprise, look what we all get to look at early from Square Enix. A "developer" diary of sorts showcasing some of the action and events from the game. That isn't the only thing this video has though. They also go in to tell about some of the choices they made in visuals, the combat system, and the selection of the game's theme song. Read More...

Final Fantasy Keeps On Shooting More Screens
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 6th of November 2009 - 02:05 PM ]
With the launch of the Japanese version of Final Fantasy XIII coming up here in a little over a month, we should all get ready for the onslaught of spoilers, videos, and screen shots. We as in everyone else in the world that has to wait until an unknown date or import in a Japanese version because we really can't wait for this game. I know I fall in the prior over the latter, but that's my love of the English language and lack of Japanese training. In any instance, here is a nice batch of eight new shots of the game. Beastiary Legal In Final Fantasy XIV
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 8th of October 2009 - 06:16 PM ]
Ok pervert, I know what you thought when you first clicked in here. No, boning animals is not going to be in Final Fantasy XIV. It still got you to look in here to check out the shots of the creatures that you will be slaying in the game. So technically you will be giving them the bone, but not in the legal issue way that you may have been thinking. So there. These shots do look like Square Enix is dead serious in giving what people have come to expect from them: a visually stunning game. Read More...

The Love Child Of Square Enix & Pop Cap Games
by Corey Dockendorf [ Thursday, 24th of September 2009 - 05:12 PM ]
At TGS Square Enix announced today, their new Puzzle/RPG named Gyromancer. It's basically a highly addictive Bejewled PopCap game with the RPG fantasy twist from the best in the business. Gyromancer will be available for XBox 360 as well as Steam. Both PopCap and Square Enix have collaborated before, in Japanese games, but this is more of a creative avenue for both teams. Gamers will play a Sorcerer of the Godseye, named Rivel, and traverse through ten different stages, collecting powerful beasts to summon throughout the adventure. Pokemon? Read More...
