The Walking Dead Escape Is Again Letting Us Play A Survival Game At SDCC
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 1st of July 2014 - 03:00 PM ]
The Walking Dead Escape is coming back to San Diego Comic Con for a third year and is allowing us gamers to try to survive a zombie apocalypse game in real life If there has been one thing that has caught my love over the last few years at San Diego Comic Con it has to be The Walking Dead Escape. If you haven't seen or heard of it or seen it you can see my 2013 run and my 2012 run or you can just look around online as the event is still touring around the country giving all of us gamers a chance to test our mettle in a real live zombie apocalypse of sorts. If you are just one of those lazy people here I'll recap what the event is all about. In a nut shell they people who put on the event take over an arena, mall, or large building structure and do it and its surroundings up as if it was a location from The Walking Dead show or comic. What's The Good News From SDCC For Batman: Arkham Origins?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 30th of July 2013 - 02:15 PM ]
Well, not that much that we have not seen or heard from E3 will answer that question. It makes sense that Batman: Arkham Origins would be on display at the San Diego Comic Con but you would think that there would be some kind of information dump that wasn't handed out a month prior. I guess it is more about getting the information out to the public directly and not through the filtered lenses of the media. Who knows? While I don't think much was shown on the floor or during their panel, there were a few little tidbits and a new trailer shown for the latest assassin, Copperhead, hunting The Bat. Read More...

SDCC 2013: South Park: The Stick Of Truth
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 26th of July 2013 - 07:08 PM ]
Didn't make it to San Diego Comic Con or the South Park: The Stick Of Truth panel? Well we got you covered. Or at least an amazing individual on the internet has you covered in the video aspect and I have you covered in the details as I was there taking notes for you. It should be no surprise that there isn't much in the way of new information since E3, but a few choice questions from fans and during the panel revealed a few tidbits. One of the best things I have heard in a while has to be that there are no plans to force DLC down our throats even though there were some major cuts from the 850+ page script of the game. Both Trey and Matt expressed a hatred for the term and that it was suggested when they had to start culling down the content. Read More...

Playing A Real World Zombie Game - The Walking Dead Escape
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 26th of July 2013 - 12:34 PM ]
Just as last year, The Walking Dead Escape was back with a vengeance at Petco Park during the San Diego Comic Con. For the uninitiated this is an event where a good portion of the sports arena in San Diego was converted into an obstacle course in the theme of AMC's The Walking Dead. It really allows for people to really test their mettle and some of their survival skills to brag that they could survive the initial zombie outbreak. I was lucky enough to get to run the course again this year and what I found interesting was that most people I ran with compared the experience to most of the action zombie video games on the market today. Granted we were not allowed to attack the zombies in the run, but I would have to agree with the sentiment as there has been a push in the industry with Outlast and Dying Light this year. Silent Hill: Revelations Looks Like It Will Further The Franchise Well
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 17th of July 2012 - 05:52 PM ]
It has been a little over six years since the first Silent Hill film hit the screen and a lot of us have been clamoring for a sequel, myself included. It has been one of the best video game franchises to move over into film and at this year's San Diego Comic Con we were given a look at a bit from the sequel, Silent Hill: Revelations. You might have already noticed below that there is a video clip from what we saw, but there is another that is not included. One that is a lot creepier and features the Mannequin from the franchise. Deadpool Is Finally Getting His Own Game
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 17th of July 2012 - 01:13 PM ]
He's been featured in a few games and has mostly been used for cameos, but now the 'merc with a mouth' is finally getting his own shot at video game stardom. That's right, Deadpool has been officially announced and the game is coming. Don't fully believe it yet? Then go ahead and check out the announcement trailer that snuck in at the San Diego Comic Con last week. Hopefully that will prove more to you. Don't be too surprised with the lack of any real substance being shown here though. Read More...

Play The Walking Dead For Real At Comic Con
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 2nd of July 2012 - 04:37 PM ]
So by now you've most likely played Telltale's The Walking Dead, read the comic or seen the show. If anything you at least are interested in the zombie apocalypse scenario. Well here is something that those interested in any of those things mention will find pretty damn awesome. If you are at San Diego Comic Con next week you will have the chance to actually play "the game" for real. The game being that of surviving in a world where the dead have escaped the Underworld and are coming for your flesh. This isn't some small obstacle course set up as fun for promotions either. Comic Con 2011 Impression: Darksiders II
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 27th of July 2011 - 01:35 PM ]
While it was not playable, at least to non-developers, Darksiders II came with the full force of Death at this year's SD Comic Con. Puns always intended here. What did we get to see for the game? We some of the new weapons, game play and a small bit of the story that we will get to play through come next year. Also, if you look below, some amazing art and visuals for the game. Let me break down what I saw and a bit of extra info about it. Read More...

Behind The Scenes With X-Men Destiny
by Corey Dockendorf [ Monday, 25th of July 2011 - 12:12 PM ]
X-Men Destiny is an Action RPG collaboration between Marvel and Activision. With an original story-line where you play as a new mutant within the X-men Universe, players will have the ability to make choices throughout the game, and your "Destiny" will be determined by these RPG style decisions. Marvel and Activision have released two behind the scenes trailers for their upcoming title X-Men Destiny. After the jump you will see the latest trailer, along with two behind the scenes videos. The behind the scenes videos consist of the actors from in-game, Scott porter and Jaimie Chung, explaining a little more about the games characters, Adrian and Aimi, also shedding some light on their background story-lines. by Corey Dockendorf [ Friday, 22nd of July 2011 - 11:09 AM ]
GoldenEye is probably one of the greatest FPS's of all time and as of last year we got a port of the game on the Nintendo Wii. Which for a time brought back some of the N64 nostalgia. Well Activision announced today that they will release GoldenEye 007: Reloaded. Only this time on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, chock full of upgraded features. With its official announcement we have an HD trailer to feast your eyes on. Along with a boatload of HD pics and 60fps of awesome-sauce. Read More...

Comic Con 2010: The Sights And Sounds
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 6th of August 2010 - 06:36 PM ]
Now that Comic Con 2010 is a thing of the not too distant past, let's take a moment to reflect back on everything that happened there. Or at least everything that myself and the AggroGamer crew got to see and experience there - albeit with a caveat. That caveat being that I am only going to place the pics and videos of the fan stuff. So don't expect to see skimpy cos-play below. What you will see is some of the stuff for Thor - both video game and film, some of the filming set for The Walking Dead, randomness from around the show floor and a butt load from Tron. Read More...

Comic Con Hands On: Dead Space 2
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 3rd of August 2010 - 05:54 PM ]
It has been only a little over a month after we first brought you our thoughts on Dead Space 2 from E3. So what new can we bring you about DS2 that we haven't already talked about? Well, actually getting to take the reins of the demo they showed in the back rooms at E3 for one. If you have seen the game play from E3, then you know exactly what part of the game we got to look at behind curtains at Comic Con. Only this time we didn't have to rely on the game designers to tell us how great the new controls for Dead Space 2 are going to be. I can attest that they are just as tight and awesome as previously described. Read More...

Comic Con Impressions: Twisted Metal
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 2nd of August 2010 - 02:36 PM ]
Ever since it was announced at E3 that there would finally be a Twisted Metal making its debut on the PS3, I have been waiting ever so patiently for a really good showing of what the people over at Eat Sleep Play have accomplished - outside of the demo they had and modes announced. Perhaps reveal some story, game play modes or other characters. All those were all strongly touched on by David Jaffe at this year's Comic Con. This included showing a few behind-the-scenes views of the "cut scenes" they will be using for Twisted Metal. Read More...

Comic Con Day 4: The Final Let Down
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 30th of July 2010 - 01:29 PM ]
Ah, Day Four. It usually is the most depressing day of the entire convention. The day to look back and remember how great the con was, as well as to mourn the fact that you have to make the journey home and wait another year. It is also the same day that one can usually wander and find all of those people who were talking the days before in panels and have some kind of in-depth conversation as most don't know who they are without the place cards of the panels. Well unlike before, it seems that all those who mattered and not the flesh craved PR of the companies had the bright idea of going home a day early. Maybe the stabbing scared them off. Read More...
