Mass Effect: Jacob's Story
by Kevin [ Saturday, 2nd of May 2009 - 05:47 PM ]
In keeping with the Mass Effect news that was previously presented concerning the concept at for ME2, here's some information on the side story coming to iPhones and the iPod Touch.Kotaku reported,"Intergalactic role-playing adventure is coming to the iPhone and iPod Touch with Mass Effect: Jacob's Story, a two-hour "animated presentation" with top-down arcade-style space combat that serves as a prequel of sorts to Mass Effect 2.The iPhone version of Mass Effect is currently being test-marketed via online survey, touting an "animated graphic novel experience" that blends "nuance[d]" story telling with "gripping top-down shooter combat."Mass Effect: Jacob's Story stars Jacob Taylor, "a biotic-powered super-soldier who stumbles across a plot to terrorize civilization's greatest beacon of hope," who must save the galaxy, naturally, but with an Apple brand touchscreen. Feed Your Warcrack Addiction From Your iPhone
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 27th of April 2009 - 04:30 PM ]
World of Warcraft On The iPhone Well it looks like the world is going to end soon as enough people to constitute an entire large US state will bring down the internet as well as the mobile communications around the world. At least if this is proved to be something real as well as something to come out. But as the tag line states, World of Warcraft has been seen on the iPhone via a new app. The video below shows off how an app that was being used to run Second Life on the iPhone has been tweaked and worked to let WoW users log in anywhere they have phone reception and play. Talk About Phoning In A Kill
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 8th of April 2009 - 06:15 PM ]
KONAMI ANNOUNCES SILENT SCOPE COMING SOON TO APPLE APP STORE Just one more step towards trailing all humans how to efficiently kill with a sniper scope. Or at least to kill using an interface that could control a sniper scope. Yea, think like in the movie The Jackal. Aim and kill with just the touch of your finger to the iPhone screen. Ok, maybe not that dramatic, but you get the idea, I hope. But in all seriousness, Konami today announced that they are working on a full on version of Silent Scope for the iPhone. Read More...

Hey! Wanna Play?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 3rd of March 2009 - 05:47 PM ]
Screen Shots of Dexter The Game Yes the title sounds like more news on the Saw game that may or may not have been canceled, but it is not. It's about Dexter The Game. Yes a game based on the Showtime show about a serial killer of killers. Let your mind wrap around that for a second. Got it? Good. Even though they might not look all that graphically impressive or even look to be a killer game, pun intended, one thing to keep in mind, this is an iPhone app game. So these visuals are from "cell phone." But some cool things to keep in mind about this is that the developers are trying to keep some of the tech in mind. Read More...

Link Of Awesome
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 10th of November 2008 - 08:59 PM ]
Videos For Zelda Fans For some reason I have been having a few issues finding anything decent to write about as of late for you guys. But don't fret, not that you would, I have a couple of videos that I stumbled on that you might find of interest. This first on is a scene from Resident Evil 4 where instead of Leon, there is a Link skin instead. Still not sure how it happened or if it is just someone's really good video editing skills to do this, but it is completely amazing. This next one is kind of of interest and a little bit of news. iGameboy Theme: If the iPhone Were Around Two Decades Ago So it was only a matter of time before some one did this to the iPhone. That is make a full on GUI to look like the old style Game Boy screen. Well here it is. Well below is the image for it. Kind of cool when you look at it, if you are a hard core gamer and such. It also comes in two forms, button less or with buttons, depending on your personal preference. This theme is free to download for all us nostalgic gamers. Read More...

Google's G1 Android Phone...
by Taylor Rose [ Thursday, 16th of October 2008 - 03:44 PM ]
I know many of Pwned.com's members are, like me, big supporters of Google. I've been highly anticipating the Google G1 Android Phone, and it has finally been announced that the phone will be available in stores on October 22, 2008. What is Android, you might ask? Android is a software platform and operating system that Google developed for mobile devices. Based off of the Linux kernel, it also allows developers to code in a Java-esque syntax: however, it does not provide the full-class libraries/APIS that come with the Java SE or Me, but rather implements the Apache Harmony Java.  Regardless of its seemingly limited functionality, Paul Reddick, CEO of Handmark (a developer of mobile media apps and services for the iPhone, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, and other OSs) thinks Android will "help breed the simple and elegant programs consumers crave". For those iPhone fanatics out there, some hope has finally emerged in the lines of TOTAL FREEDOM, that is, freedom from Apple's restrictions built into the iPhone. The developer team of the new iPhone "Pwnage Tool" have finally made some releases on their crazy new software. Unlike previous iPhone hacks, the iPhone Pwnage Tool allows you complete control of your iPhone. Aside from being able to install the firmware of your choice, theres even talk of installing Linux if you want! How cool would it be to be able to say, "I HAVE LINUX," on your iPhone? Read More...

Nerd Up Your Cellphone!
by [ Friday, 21st of March 2008 - 10:31 AM ]
Maybe not quite a news article, but I recently got my new motorola razr and instantly knew what I wanted to do: nerdy themes. But I couldn't pick just one aspect of nerdom to apply to my phone! So, I made a few different themes and thought I'd share them with the pwned.com community to use as well. I have no idea how to package themes for download, so below are the images I made/resized for wallpaper and screensaver usage and the links to free mp3 shorts that can be used as ringtones. Enjoy!
