Lord Of The Rings Online Free-To-Play Goes Live Sept 10th

Looks like players of Lord of the Rings Online will not have to wait much longer for the highly anticipated Free-to-Play content update. Today it was announced that Turbine will be releasing the update on September 10th. The entire free-to-play structure has been under close scrutiny by fans and the press alike. Lord Of The Rings Online To Go Free-To-Play

Today Turbine and Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment announced that in the fall their popular MMO, Lord of the Rings Online, will be introducing a free-to-play model. Turbine will be implementing a three-tier system (VIP, Premium and Free) that will put limitations on the non-subscribing members. Free members will still be able to access all four races, most of the player classes and all three starting zones. Other limitations do apply, such as number of characters per server, inventory bags and a money cap. Read More...

LOTRO Expansion To Change Mount System, Making A Difference

With the new Lord of the Rings Online expansion, Siege of Mirkwood, set to release in less than two months, more information about some of the the enhancements have trickled out in the form of developer diaries. In one of the recent developer diaries, the LOTRO team discussed the revamped mount system set to release in this next expansion. This is especially significant because this feature has always been a bit of a dark smudge on the gameplay. To me, the mount system in LOTRO has always felt a bit tacked on. Read More...

Lord of the Rings Online Expansion Gets Date, Price

Tuesday Turbine announced the release date and pricing for the second expansion for Lord of the Rings Online: Siege of Mirkwood. If you want to know more about the expansion itself, check out the expansion's announcement here. In that article I speculated about the digital download's price as it does not feel like a true expansion but rather the second half of the Mines of Moria expansion. Turbine Announces new Lord of the Rings Online Expansion

Today Turbine announced the latest expansion to their immensely popular Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game, Lord of the Rings Online. Entitled Siege of Mirkwood, the press release comes on the heels of Blizzard's announcement last month of an expansion to...whatever that game is...Turbine looks at this as an epic ending to their award-winning expansion, Mines of Moria. For those that listen to the Aggrocast, it is no secret that I am a big fan and lifetime subscriber to Lord of the Rings Online.
