Sony PWNs Self?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 2nd of April 2008 - 01:09 PM ]
Feel the Shock Next Week! I really am not a big fan of April 1st. Like I've said before, I am a fan of a good joke, but when it comes to actually reporting something that means anything yesterday was a trial. Hence why I only found one object to post about and it was about a fake video anyway. But now back to actually reporting fun news in the gaming world. So it looks like Sony is revving up their release for the new Dual Shock 3 controller. Originally it was due out on the 15th, but it looks like it will be here a week early. Read More...

Over the weekend a handful of updates were released for all you STEAM users out there. If you've already restarted your Steam client since yesterday then it's already been installed. First off, Valve updated the Steam client last week, fixing some bugs and compatibility problems that some of you may or may not have been experiencing. And then again yesterday came two update bundles for those of you who have either FRONTLINES: Full of War and/or Garry's Mod on your Steam account. In the answers to our hopes and prayers, Valve has made a good impact an some common problems experienced during game and fixing bugs responsible for many crashes (God knows my Gmod crashes all the time). Enjoy Gaming In 3D

Wii Head Tracking powers new 3D game Not the most creative of titles, but, well...whatever. A long while back, before we had the Narticle section, I posted a bunch of things about the Wii and PS-Eye head tracking systems that people are working on. They were just basic tracking things that would move just some dots or basic targets on the screen depending on where your head is. The Wii had a set of glasses for this. They looked very clunky and a lot like the old VR goggles of yore. Read More...

They just don't give up, do they?
by Stephanie Naboshek [ Wednesday, 26th of March 2008 - 03:18 PM ]
In light of the upcoming release of Grand Theft Auto IV, I figured I'd deliver you all some more updates on EA's attempt to buy out Take-Two!Earlier this year EA attempted put out a bid on Take-Two, parent company to Rockstar and 2K games, and were rejected. After trying to make a bid again last month, EA once again ups it's anny and puts out yet another bid out on Take-Two. And once again - they got rejected!Although the press release on T2's site is pretty much written in Wall Street-lingo wrapped in an abundance of legal mumbo-jumbo, I was able to gather some details: -EA has upped it's offer to $26 a share for stock-holders of Take-Two. Hammer Comes Down On Xbox Live Cheaters We all hate cheaters don't we? We all like to have a good laugh at someone when they get busted right? Its funny cause it's not me is a great saying. Well Microsoft is giving us two awesome things then. They are cracking down on cheaters or those who tamper with their Gamerscore and Achievements. How they are cracking down is listed below, but the best part is the sample they gave of how the account will be labeled on their community pages and the in dash views. I almost cried laugh at first. Hopefully Uwe Boll Doesn't Touch It
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 14th of March 2008 - 12:19 PM ]
Metal Gear Movie Like the title says, lets try to keep it hush hush from him. We don't need him taking this and turning out crap with it. So far he doesn't score to well with Game movies. But that is not the point of this little snippet of information. It is to talk about a movie that could be pretty F*cking cool. So far it has been just a big bag of rumor, but it looks like the rumor might become total truth. Columbia Pictures looks to actually go through with this whole thing. Read More...

Totally Unreal

Unreal Engine 4 Targeting Consoles As I am sure a lot of you are, you have seen or played with the Unreal 3 Engine. I know I got overly excited when I first saw it back in my college days, not too long ago but still. Needless to say, but I'm still going to say it, it was beautiful and I couldn't look more forward to it. Now this drops out there in cyber land and I am actually curious to see it. That and it will go mainly toward Consoles instead of for PC games, at first. Read More...

A Great Day In Video Game Land
by Aaron BlueWolf72 Molloy [ Monday, 10th of March 2008 - 03:44 PM ]
My favorite site besides has a awesome story about the New York Gov. Eliott Spitzer (D) was apparently known as Client 9 to an upscale prostitution ring.  Spitzer was opposed to violent video games like Hitman: Codename 47.  The irony and hypocrisy of this man let alone that he is a politician.   Source - During the 2006 campaign Spitzer called out the video game industry for excessive violence and, ironically, sexual content in its products: Like all parents, I know it is increasingly difficult to protect our children from negative influences… we have learned that when self-regulation fails, government must step in… we must do more to protect our children from excessive sex and violence in the media… Media content has gotten more graphic, more violent and more sex-based… Currently, nothing under New York State law prohibits a fourteen-year old from walking into a video store and buying… a game like ‘Grand Theft Auto,’ which rewards a player for stealing cars and beating people up. Info about Heavenly Sword II We all knew it would happen, with Heavenly Sword being a huge game. Not to mention being featured on Heroes. Good news on this is that it has been written already and production is going. Another interesting thing that people didn't know is that they were asking us normal folk, from here on in Normies, our opinions. Before you ask "Where?", it was a focus group out of Chicago last night. Read More...

The Day The Dragon Died :(
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 4th of March 2008 - 03:55 PM ]
Dungeons & Dragons Creator Gary Gygax Dead, 3/4/2008 A sad day indeed. Gary Gygax died today in his home from natural causes at the age of 69. For those who don't know or didn't read the title bar, he was the creator for Dungeons and Dragons. This news was posted by his son, Ernie Gygax, through the Troll Lord Games forum boards and the news has hit many other websites about his demise. But even though he is gone, his legacy will hopefully live on like Achilles. Before anyone starts to say, how does this relate to video games, his work is what was used to inspire so many of the games you enjoy today. Read More...
