Left 4 Dead Delayed til November 20th
by Andy [ Monday, 25th of August 2008 - 03:15 PM ]
Much anticipated Valve game, Left 4 Dead, has been pushed back until November 20th. At least this is still in time for the holiday season, so you can eat your christmas cookies while blastig zombies away. At least I know I will be! "Left 4 Dead is going to be released on the tenth anniversary of Half-Life, our first game," said Newell. "That will be on November 20th, the third week in November." I can't say this is a huge let down at all, infact, I like that it is being pushed back a bit. Read More...

by Sam [ Friday, 22nd of August 2008 - 11:38 AM ]
If you're like me and own a copy of The Orange Box for 360, you're probably upset that the PC version gets all the good updates. But alas, Valve is finally bringing all the updates delivered via Steam to the Xbox Live Marketplace. New class-specific Achievements, new unlockable weapons for the Pyro, Medic and Heavy, new gameplay modes and new maps. Doug Lombardi, Valve marketing director, said that he wanted to build up a massive update for 360 users before delivering. But like a lot of good things there's always a price to pay. Read More...

PS3 Gets A Shocking!
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 19th of August 2008 - 04:51 PM ]
BioShock Dated And Given Extras So those of you who have heard the hype about Bioshock but were too lazy to get it on the PC or XBox, or only have a PS3, you might have known that it was getting a PS3 release. Well, today it was dated for the gaming world. That's right, the 21st of October. Not bad timing, except that Dead Space is coming out around the same time. But I doubt that will hurt them any. Especially with the extras being offered for the new PS3 version of the game. Read More...

Sega wants to make you beautiful
by Nikole [ Tuesday, 12th of August 2008 - 04:37 PM ]
Sega is hard at work to make you beautiful. The gaming company has teamed up with the make-up powerhouse Shiseido to bring women and men a personal beauty consultant. Project Beauty will be hitting shelves in Japan on November 27 on the Nintendo DS. The game will be used with a scanning device that will take a digital image of the players face and feed it into the DS. After scanning your face you will be put into one of four groups; Cool, Active, Cute or Feminine. You then have the option of the game telling you what's best for your particular face or you can decide for yourself by mixing and matching different colors. Read More...

Gears of War 2: Linked Achievements
by Nikole [ Monday, 28th of July 2008 - 06:03 PM ]
In Gears of War 2 news, the people of Epic seem to really understand their audience. Epic loves us for exactly what we are, a bunch of achievement whores. Now while some people may be above spending time going through games solely to raise their gamer score, most of us are not. Epic has created a whole new type of achievement system, called "linked" achievements. Linked Achievements occur when someone obtains an achievement in the first game(Gears of War), this then unlocks new content in the second game(Gears of War 2). Some examples of this are:- Complete Act One in Gears Of War, unlock a playable Anthony Carmine in Gears of War 2- Find 10 COG tags in Gears Of War, unlock Minh Young Kim in Gears of War 2- Kill Raam in Gears Of War, unlock a playable Raam in Gears of War 2According to xboxfocus. More On Dead Space I will apologize now if my next few news articles come straight out of Comic-Con 2008 or tie ins. I was way to busy to keep things up to date while I was there, but I will do my best to get it all out there in my personal Blogs and here as well. That aside... This is some new stuff I caught on this very much hyped game from EA. They had a spectacular booth and panel for this game. With a dude in the full on armor shown in the trailers. Read More...

Guilty Gear 2: Overture
by Taylor Rose [ Tuesday, 22nd of July 2008 - 11:41 PM ]
Guilty Gear has always been one of my favorite series of fighter games because it greatly impairs our oh-so-beloved button mashers from pwning ass. Take Soul Calibur II for instance: when playing as Rafael, by repeatedly pushing one button, Rafael will rapidly flail his sabre, often leaving the other player no chance to retaliate. The control structure in Guilty Gear is so brilliant because rapidly pushing the punch or kick button won't get you very far: special combos are based mainly on the combination of buttons and quarter or half turns with the joystick or directional pad. It has so far proven to be a very difficult game to master - but isn't that what one looks for? Read More...

Microsoft Opening XBL For Users To Create Own Games
by Michael Camacho [ Tuesday, 22nd of July 2008 - 06:46 PM ]
Think you have what it takes to build your own game for Xbox Live, and can do better than what is out there now?  Well now you can, as Microsoft has announced that XNA Game Studio software will be made available to gamers who yearn to create their own video games.  Micorsoft already had a trial run of the XNA Creators Club games earlier this year which featured "Little Gamers", "Culture", "Jellycar", "The Dishwasher" and others.  MS has plans to introduce the XBox Live Community Games this holiday season to XBL Marketplace. Microsoft unveiled in their plan that you will be able to have your games added to the XBL Marketplace, for a price of 200 to 800 points, after passing a peer review, as well as take home a cut of the total revenue the game makes, which MS claims to be up to 70% in a form of a quarterly check. Dead Will Be Rising On The Wii
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 16th of July 2008 - 01:14 PM ]
Dead Rising Ports To The Wii Yes, you read that right. Well at least that is what I have been able to gather from a very broken translation of the Japanese magazine Famitsu. So if you were still waffling on buying an XBox to get this game, it will be out on the Wii. Should be good news for some people who will remain nameless, but they are on this site. Hopefully it will do as well as RE4 did when it ported over as well. Go Capcom. Read More...
