Already DLC Planned for L.A. Noire...
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 4th of March 2011 - 06:44 PM ]
Yea, you ready that right. The game is still a bit off and there is already DLC planned for L.A. Noire. Granted it is a pre-order DLC case file, but we all know it is only a matter of time before it hits the virtual shelves for everyone that desperately want it and didn't have the money to pre-order. Although chances are that if you are searching for L.A. Read More...

Looks Like Castlevania To Be Resurrected By DLC
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 27th of December 2010 - 12:01 PM ]
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow came and went. It was a great addition to the franchise in my opinion but the replay on the game is almost nonexistent. Once you beat the main game and then clean up the challenges and Paladin play-through there really is not much more to do with the game. It just sits on the shelf collecting dust like all of tomes in the Vampire's castle. To make sure this isn't going to happen too long, it would seem that Konami is dishing out some DLC to give you more reason to head back. Read More...

Pigsy's Perfect 10 Is Not A Porn As It Sounds
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 2nd of November 2010 - 02:22 PM ]
Maybe it is just me, but the title of the upcoming DLC for Enslaved: Odyssey To The West really sounds like a porn title. If you have played the game and run into the titular character for this DLC it's even more likely that you can make that jump in logic. I mean the character Pigsy is, well, a pig when it comes to the female populace. To go further into the thought on the DLC, the premise from the sounds of it is that Pigsy is tired of being lonely and wants to build his perfect fembot. At least this is the sum up from the press release and trailer. Read More...

Naughty Bear Hitting The High Seas Now
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 13th of September 2010 - 02:10 PM ]
For a game that did not appeal to gamers en masse, Naught Bear is not holding back on the DLC they are going to be pumping out for it. 505 Games has already given out some free DLC in the way of an eighth chapter to the story of Naughty Bear. Along with that a new group of bears to try and bring Naughty down and weapons. Something that must have brought gamers back into playing the game as here comes another batch of DLC. Here comes a ninth chapter to the story of Naughty Bear and with it, the ability to take Ninjas vs. Read More...

Get Enslaved By These New Screens And DLC Announcements
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 10th of September 2010 - 05:51 PM ]
As I said back at Gamescom, my interest was just starting to come around for Enslaved: Odyssey To The West after seeing the actual game footage there. It was something truly attention catching and these new screen and clips nail your eyes lids to the game while a 300 lbs. midget sits on the back of your head keeping your eyes focused on nothing but. (Read: I think it looks super keen.) While below you may only start out seeing screen shots of how the game will visually look, which is not too shabby, the video shows a bit of how the combat system will flow and how the game will play out. Viva La Claptrap Revolution!
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 10th of September 2010 - 03:52 PM ]
Back in early August we mentioned the new DLC for Borderlands, Claptrap New Robot Revolution. It is bring a bunch of additions to the game, as we mentioned, as well as being included in the GOTY Edition, also mentioned. So what new do we have for you? Not a solid release date, but I'm willing to bet on 9/14, 9/21 or 9/28 if 2K and Gearbox want to keep their September time frame originally mentioned. It is, as you've most likely glanced already, a set of new screens and posters for the DLC. Nothing too revealing, but something to make you look at and give a thought about dropping the $9. Borderlands Giving Out DLC For Free
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 31st of August 2010 - 10:42 AM ]
Isn't it always the case now? Everyone is out to make a buck one way or another at the expense of our pockets. The recent price hike for XBL is a good example of that. What you may have missed is the push for Game of the Year (GOTY) or Special Edition versions of games that come loaded with all that expensive DLC pumped out after game launch. Obviously this is simply a play to grab all the people who didn't shell out cash to make sure the DLC was created. LittleBigPlanet and Batman: Arkham Asylum are great examples here of this. Ninjas & Robots Team Up, Nothing Good Can Come Of This
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 12th of August 2010 - 02:11 PM ]
Instead of facing off in a bloody, futuristic main event, like they should have, 2K Games and Gearbox are teaming up to show their post-apocalyptic supremacy over everything. At least that is the premise behind the new DLC for Borderlands - Claptrap's New Robot Revolution. Wait, you didn't know there is some new DLC rolling out for Borderlands? Well consider this a nice little daily double, even though it is all wrapped into one package. /MindBlown I'll give you a moment to collect your thoughts again. Read More...

Let's Get Super Naughty With Naughty Bear
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 11th of August 2010 - 12:28 PM ]
You know for a game that was not as widely accepted, outside of a small cult following, you would think that 505 Games and A2M would have moved on to another IP. But I guess it looks like Naughty Bear finally balled up and took them on to make his game even better. Better by adding in a whole new level, bear types, costumes and more to the story of Naughty Bear. Looks like the bears on the Island of Perfection have yet another scheme to take Naughty on with. Only this time a new group of superhero bears have come to the island. Read More...

Minerva's Den Is Where All The Cool DLC Was Hidden
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 6th of August 2010 - 02:08 PM ]
Just when you thought that maybe there was nothing left to be done in BioShock 2 another DLC pack is sent our way. First it was more multiplayer. Then it was more "single" player in the form of harvesting challenges. Let's see what 2K Game is going to try and milk us for this time. Most likely more map packs for a multiplayer mode that is getting a little on the light side. *[Insert Press Release Opening Noises]* Oh, well isn't this interesting? New DLC that is all about expanding the best part of the game, THE STORY. Read More...

Spawn More Overlord, Mass Effect Style
by Binh Nguyen [ Friday, 11th of June 2010 - 02:50 PM ]
A new DLC is "coming soon" for one of this year's major titles. Of course I am talking about Mass Effect 2. Today BioWare has announced the Overload DLC for XBox 360 and PC. When sent to investigate a Cerberus research base that's mysteriously gone silent, Shepard arrives to find Geth overrunning the base. The sole survivor Chief Scientist Archer, pains a dire picture: an experiment to fuse a human volunteer with a virtual intelligence created a hybrid “VI overlord”. The rampaging VI has already attacked three other Cerberus bases, controlling any technology it finds in an attempt to break free-and unleashing Geth across the planet. Read More...

Mini Review: Dante's Inferno: Trials Of Lucida
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 14th of May 2010 - 10:32 AM ]
It was talked about way back in February when Dante's Inferno first launched and has since come to fruition. That being the DLC that adds multiplayer to a game that was originally sold as a single player experience. Also DLC that adds the ability for players to build their own challenge maps for other people who own Dante's Inferno to play. The DLC I am speaking of is The Trials Of Lucida. Is it worth the $10? After reading the Brian G article on DLC, I bring to you another DLC in the works from 2K Games that they will be releasing; The next BioShock 2 DLC called Rapture Metro Pack. This add-on will be available for the XBox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. Here is some of the details that will be included in the next DLC. Six all-new maps built, some built from the single-player portion of the game. Three new Achievements/Trophies. Read More...

Brian G Asks: WTF is up with DLC?
by Brian Goodman [ Monday, 26th of April 2010 - 12:20 PM ]
It's an exciting time to be a gamer because there is definitely a lot of pivotal stuff going on in our industry right now. Today I want to go on about a reasonably new development of an old concept. Expansion packs have been around since the mid 90's in the PC world. Back when the PC dinosaurs ruled the video game landscape (and just about any game could be played on any computer without a video card that costs more than a PS3), if there was a successful game, a half a year or so later we would see an expansion pack. People who enjoyed a game could purchase more content for around $20 to $30-ish. Don't quote me on this, but the first expansion in my memory was the level add on pack for Doom II released in 1995 called "Doom II Master Levels. Read More...
