Aggrocast Episode Eighty-Nine: Blitz On Blizzcon
by Brian Bentley [ Monday, 31st of October 2011 - 12:28 PM ]
Episode 89 has the Aggrocast mixing things up. Writer Matthew Waitt joins Brian and Corey for the podcast filled with talk of World of Warcraft and everything Blizzcon 2011. You'll also hear Brian pretty much speechless as he tries to wrap his head around why people are still excited about WoW. It's not just a WoW podcast, as we talk about Diablo III, Starcraft II and the almost complete absence of Titan. We also learn more about Matt, do Whatcha Been Playing and still make time for a sweet Care / Don't Care. We are currently still having a technical issue with our usual feeds, so in the mean time, click here to listen, press play below or use the link below to download it directly. Read More...

Tribes: Ascend Closed Beta Is Just Around The Corner *UPDATE*
by Corey Dockendorf [ Monday, 10th of October 2011 - 06:02 PM ]
According to an interview with Todd Harris the COO of Hi-Rez Studios has announced a closed beta for Tribes: Ascend will begin November 4th! The confirmation came during an interview with Cyberlink. I got my hands-on with Tribes: Ascend at this year's Quakecon: 2011 and it is as close to the original that any game could get. Large 16 multiplayer maps, armor and weapon load outs and a disc-launcher that would make any FPS proud. The biggest hook is that this is team based combat and it really shows on these large maps. Foo Fighters Set To Rock BlizzCon 2011
by Corey Dockendorf [ Wednesday, 28th of September 2011 - 01:01 PM ]
Every year BlizzCon bring some of the most amazing talent to their closing ceremonies at BlizzCon and this year is no exception. Usually fans wait patiently to find out who will be this year's guest and Blizzard has really outdone themselves. With past musical performances by Tenacious D, Ozzy Osbourne and The Offspring, this year we will welcome the Foo Fighters will grace the stage at the Anaheim convention center during the event held October 21st - 22nd. Over the course of their 16-year career, the Foo Fighters have sold tens of millions of records, won half a dozen Grammy awards, and raised countless voices in sing-alongs of iconic anthems like "Everlong," "My Hero," "Learn to Fly", "All My Life," “Best of You,” and “The Pretender.” Foo Fighters' BlizzCon debut marks founder Dave Grohl's triumphant return to the convention after playing drums for Tenacious D in last year's show, and comes during an international arena, stadium, and festival tour promoting their seventh album, the international #1 record Wasting Light. WarCorner: Blizzard Announces Vanity Pet Murkablo
by Corey Dockendorf [ Friday, 26th of August 2011 - 01:43 PM ]
Blizzcon is less than two months away and Blizzard has just announced that players who attend Blizzcon '11 on October 21st and 22nd at the Anaheim convention or those that pay $40 for the Pay Per View virtual ticket, will get the highly anticipated vanity pet Murkablo. It's like having a little Diablo in your Warcraft. Although this is not the first Diablo vanity pet found in World of Warcraft, as Mini-Tyrael was the pet given out at Blizzard's Worldwide Invitational back in 2008, it's still very exciting. We saw some brief video of this little fire breather back in June when a few data mining sites pulled him from the "depths of hell" and gave us a short preview. Read More...

Borderlands 2 Is Getting Chilly Too
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 18th of August 2011 - 02:31 PM ]
Living in Vegas it is rare that we get to see snow. I'm talking real heavy snow. I personally hate the stuff but I do love the temperature that comes along side with snow. I do enjoy going outside on a nice brisk day where I can still wear short sleeves and not freeze my balls off. Much like the poster boy for Borderlands 2 as you will see below. Like how I brought that around? From Gamescom, 2K and Gearbox have given us some more to look at for the game. Read More...

Mortal Kombat No Longer The Dream You Want
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 27th of July 2011 - 06:26 PM ]
So this threw me for kind of a loop at Comic Con. The fourth, and possibly final, DLC character announced for Mortal Kombat is Freddy Krueger. Not the rumored Green Lantern or some other comic super hero but the master of nightmares. Not to mention the most recent incarnation of him with a few tweaks to make him a realistic fighter for the game. That means that they needed to glove each hand instead of just the one. Below you can view the new game play trailer for Mr. Read More...

by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 27th of July 2011 - 01:35 PM ]
While it was not playable, at least to non-developers, Darksiders II came with the full force of Death at this year's SD Comic Con. Puns always intended here. What did we get to see for the game? We some of the new weapons, game play and a small bit of the story that we will get to play through come next year. Also, if you look below, some amazing art and visuals for the game. Let me break down what I saw and a bit of extra info about it. Read More...

by Corey Dockendorf [ Friday, 22nd of July 2011 - 11:09 AM ]
GoldenEye is probably one of the greatest FPS's of all time and as of last year we got a port of the game on the Nintendo Wii. Which for a time brought back some of the N64 nostalgia. Well Activision announced today that they will release GoldenEye 007: Reloaded. Only this time on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, chock full of upgraded features. E3 2011 Impressions: Star Trek
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 22nd of June 2011 - 11:56 AM ]
Now if you saw the Sony press conference you might have caught the small bit about a new Star Trek game coming soon with a really cool looking phaser add-on for the Move. There was extremely little shown off there and it seemed like it was just going to be a footnote in the game announcements during the conference. That was until I sought out Paramount and Digital Extremes in an underground meeting room. This is where the full announcement and game was being shown off. Read More...

E3 2011 Hands On: PS Vita
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 21st of June 2011 - 04:54 PM ]
Well we've waited and wondered at what Sony had in store for the NGP and at the Sony Conference most of the details were revealed. We now have the PS Vita coming to stores in the not too distant future to snag our money and keep us gaming when not at home. For those who don't know or have strong logic skills, this is the PSP2 that has been all the rumor for the last year. We were lucky enough to get our hands on a couple of PS Vita's and some of the software coming on or around launch time for the system. All of which showing off some of the new features and capabilities of the PS Vita. Read More...

Aggrocast Episode Eighty-Three: E3 2011 Special
by Brian Bentley [ Monday, 20th of June 2011 - 12:37 PM ]
David, Corey and Brian are back at it to talk about this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo. First, they wrap up what they've been playing outside of the show floor - including Dungeon Siege III, Dungeons And Dragons: Daggerdale, Alice: The Madness Returns, Duke Nukem Forever, Final Fantasy III, 4 Elements and of course, Brian's update on how many hours he's put into Persona 4. Our Care/Don't Care segment goes commando with an all-E3 focus, which is also our main topic.  I will say that our talk went on a bit with the sheer number of topics that presented themselves from E3. E3 2011 Impressions: Wii U
by Brian Bentley [ Friday, 17th of June 2011 - 06:07 PM ]
Starting back in April, rumors began swirling about Nintendo announcing a new console. Finally confirmed by the Japanese giant, people were anxiously awaiting the “Wii HD” reveal at this year’s E3. Nintendo did not disappoint the many in attendance at the press conference and those around the world with the unveiling of the Wii U. While the name may not be revolutionary, many of the features of both the new console and its unique controller may have you clamoring for this next release. I’ll put a section at the bottom of the article for all the hardware specifics – mainly because you can read that on any boring site. Read More...
