Wolfenstein Review
by Ben Brody [ Saturday, 29th of August 2009 - 07:42 AM ]
Perhaps it's a little to old for some of you younger gamers out there, but Wolfenstein has always had a place in my heart. Wolfenstein 3D revolutionized the FPS genre, and while Wolfenstein doesn't have as much of an impact on the video game industry as Wolfenstein 3D did, it is certainly a fun filled game. The game is a sequel to Return to Castle Wolfenstein, which was released for the PS2, PC, and XBOX in 2001, and stars William “BJ” Blackowitz, who was the protagonist in the previous Wolfenstein games. While Wolfenstein departs from many of the nostalgic elements that RTCW had, it keeps the main tradition of Wolfenstein alive: Supernatural Nazis are trying to take over the world. Read More...

Calling In FFXIII Shots
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 28th of August 2009 - 06:12 PM ]
And look, they were called in. Well at least seven of them. Seven glorious new looks at this highly anticipated game that seems to be forever off on the horizon; teasing all of us in North America or pretty much anywhere that isn't Japan since they do get it this Winter. Those damn Japanese*. These screens show off a little bit of the CGI that Square-Enix is well known for, as well as some of the in-game stuff and combat system. The aesthetics are something that has yet to let me down in any way for this game. I just really hope that the storytelling aspect of the game isn't being hurt at all because they are spending months trying to get the shine and opacity looking perfect in the ice levels. Brütal Metal Achievements
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 27th of August 2009 - 05:00 PM ]
I Got A Car And A Date. Some Chicks N' Booze N' Stuff. Then I Ran To The Hills. All for some Hair Remover, and Now You Must Tell The Tale. All to rock out and be Six Degrees Of Schafer. Now I am a Rock God! Oh snap! Ok, no you don't, but I thought it a fun way to work some of these fun and metal achievement/trophy names into this. This being the official list of the Achievement and Trophies you will be able to collect this coming October Rocktober in Brütal Legend. For a game that was originally designed to be a multiplayer RTS, you would have expected to find more of the multiplayer stuff as trophies too. Read More...

It's About Time To Get Wet
by Kevin [ Wednesday, 26th of August 2009 - 06:36 PM ]
One of the more curious titles of the year has presented a demo for PS3 owners and Xbox owners. For the uninitiated, Wet is an action game that combines shooting and swordplay with all kinds of crazy acrobatics. The main character, Rubi voiced by Elisha Dushku, carries twin pistols and a sword and does all of the fun filled John Woo-esque moves that have become standard fare in most action titles these days. One of the better elements of the gunplay is that she automatically target an additional enemy which allows some ease and versatility with your firefight strategy. She also has the ability to fuse attacks together, and your acrobatics aren't limited to flipping off of a wall, but you can substitute a person instead of the aformentioned wall. Read More...

Hey Look At Me! I'm Climbing A Bridge!
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 26th of August 2009 - 04:23 PM ]
The Saboteur Screen Shots So The Saboteur tried to sneak by with a quiet showing of the game. Either because they were drowned out by al the Blizzcon news and other GamesCom news that was all a flutter. But you know what? We at AggroGamer here caught these sneaks trying to get past everyone's view. We caught the game in action here and we caught it red handed. Climbing, driving and sneaking on the peripherals of everyone's views. Read More...

PS3 Slim Review
by Ben Brody [ Wednesday, 26th of August 2009 - 07:07 AM ]
So the 120gb PS3 Slim is out, how does it compare to the older, fatter, more mature PS3? Well the first thing I noticed was, “Damn, that box is a lot smaller than my old PS3's box”. The next thing I noticed was, “Damn, this is a lot lighter than my old PS3.” The lighter, smaller PS3 is a little wider than the old PS3, but it's slightly wider girth is greatly overshadowed by the smaller height, the lower profile, and the overall sleek, matte black, design. The PS3 sports a new 45nm processor, which, technical differences which I will not get into aside, requires less power. The power cord itself is just a standard unpolarized C8 cord (non-technical term: the same one the PS2, PS1, Dreamcast, SNES, NES, 3DO, etc all use), as opposed to the beefier C13 (aka IEC, nontechnical term: the one that your PC, monitor, and TV use) that the older PS3 uses. Time To Clean Up Arkham
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 25th of August 2009 - 09:38 AM ]
Batman: Arkham Asylum - Release Trailer Just in time for the official release date, in North America, come what will be the coolest looking trailer/advertisement for Batman Arkham Asylum to date. Even better than the sing skeleton video they have showing off the Scarecrow DLC you get for pre-ordering at GameStop. Albeit, not as funny, but it is one of the best views of the game that the general public will get a look at before they actually get to pick up the game. Even more so earlier for those across the big blue ocean to the East, they have to wait a few more days to have the Caped Crusader on their systems. Read More...

Not Your Normal Avatar
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 24th of August 2009 - 09:48 PM ]
James Cameron's Avatar - Screens and Video We've all been bored with the speculation. We've all been bored with the waiting for any information about this game. We've all been bored by listening to James Cameron babble on about what may or may not be included in the game for his next big block buster. Can you honestly say you were not bored and let down by everything that came up about Avatar before the huge trailer showing at Comic Con? I didn't think so. Read More...

Nanosuit 2 For Sale
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 21st of August 2009 - 06:34 PM ]
Crysis 2 Teasers Ok, well it isn't really for sale. At least not in the real world. But from watching the below video clips you could think otherwise. Well kind of. Well maybe if you were a little bit special, and not the kind that mom use to say you were. But I digress. Crytek and EA are starting with the viral-ish type promotions a bit early here. They utilize a well-worn concept  used back when the first Resident Evil film was starting to be pimped out. A nice little video or two showcasing something that looks like a real product just to entice fans and anyone really interested in the game. Read More...

Welcome Home, Again
by Kevin [ Thursday, 20th of August 2009 - 04:07 PM ]
With all of the news flooding out of the Sony camp a lot of people have been curious to see if the Home service is going to receive any measure of attention. Well, they have heard your cries and have offered up a wealth of information courtesy of the official blog. The list of features are as follows: Universal Game Launching: "You can now launch into any PlayStation 3 game directly from Home. Titles that fully support game launching (like Street Fighter 4 and Far Cry 2) will be identified by separate icons that appear over an avatar's head and will have varying degrees of additional multiplayer functionality built in. Simplified game launching will take you from Home to the start menu of your favorite games with ease. Read More...

New LBP DLC Will Totally Get You Wet
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 20th of August 2009 - 01:05 PM ]
Sack it to Me – the "Big Announcements" Edition You ever hop into the level creator for LittleBigPlanet and feel like there was something missing. Something that stopped you from being able to faithfully recreate the entire game of Super Mario Bros. using their sandbox. Something you couldn't quite place your finger on. Something you had to muddle around with the jet packs a bit to get to work correctly as well as run a blue tint over the entire screen for immersion's sake. Ok, enough of that and on to the point. I Got A Great Big Bow Here
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 20th of August 2009 - 07:32 AM ]
Hades Boss Fight Round 2 So on Monday we were able to give you a nice view of what the Lord of the Dead would be looking like. We've seen him only in a few minor shots in the God of War FMVs before that. But now we get one further peek at how this epic boss/boss fight will look and feel. All of this through some more screen shots from the game and what is being shown at GamesCom. I know it is all Hades vs. Kratos in those shots there, but it still looks amazingly stunning. It's A Story... Of A Clan Named Belmont...
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 19th of August 2009 - 11:56 PM ]
Konami Unmasks the Belmont Clan in Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Just in case you forgot about the Castlevania game that has Hideo Kojima attached to it, due to being hit in the head with a baseball bat, let's give you a reminder. Yes, the man of Metal Gear Solid fame has his hands in the game. Yes, there are a lot of big names doing some of the Voice Overs. Yes it is a very well done looking next gen version of the franchise. But that was all that people knew of when they first announced and gave a short tease at E3 this year. Read More...

Firming Up More With Firmware
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 19th of August 2009 - 05:27 PM ]
PlayStation 3 Firmware (v3.00) Update So with the new PS3 Slim and price drop hitting the world, it would make sense that Sony would do something special for all of us who purchased the system a while ago. Some of us, at launch. I'll remain nameless for that one there. Irregardless, a new, pretty awesome update to the whole PS3 experience is what we current owners are getting. If you check out the list and video below, you can get a good look at what they are dishing out for us. A slimmer, sleeker What's New section. Read More...
