Microsoft has just released an update for the Xbox One on their official site. After the fan outcry about Microsoft’s aggressive DRM policies it seems like they have turned over a new leaf. To update my previous article PS4 Vs. Xbox One, here is what is changing with the Xbox One. Always on line no more Microsoft has confirmed that you will not be required to be online to play single player games. After you complete a onetime set up after the un-boxing you will never have to connect with the Xbox servers again just as with the Xbox 360. There is no 24-hour check in required to play your games. The Wolf Among Us Preview

Last year Telltale games received multiple Game Of The Year rewards for their work on their episodic game series The Walking Dead. Now Telltale is returning with their follow up The Wolf Among Us. The Wolf Among Us is based on the Fables comic book series written by Bill Willingham. Fables is about famous fairy tale characters that come to live in our world when their homeland is threatened by an evil entity called The Adversary. The Fairy tales have moved to our world in an attempt to hide from The Adversary and create a safe haven in New York. Call Of Duty: Ghosts Officially Revealed

Activision has confirmed that the rumored Call Of Duty: Ghosts will in fact be the next installment in the long running FPS franchise. Not many details on the game were revealed by Activision aside from a teaser trailer and a promise for a bigger reveal during the Xbox: The Next Generation Revealed Event on May 21st. Activision also announced that the game will be released on November 5th for the PS3, Xbox 360, PC, PS4 and the new Xbox. As for plot details none were revealed but the box art hints at a prequel to the Modern Warfare games. Read More...

Pax East: Saints Row IV Preview

Deep Silver was at PAX East during the weekend to show off their recently purchased game Saints Row IV. Volition started the demo by explaining the games new story. Saints Row IV takes the leader of the Saints and makes him the president of the United States. But all is not well as the leader of the Saints have been captured by aliens and placed in a virtual version of Steel port. The new story direction allows Volition to make Saints Row even crazier. Sim City's Downfall

EA released their new Sim City game this week to a huge fan outcry. Many gamers are dissatisfied with the always-online DRM and the poor servers. What makes matters worse is that EA is only allowing people who bought a physical copy of a game to request a refund. Unfortunately gamers who bought a digital copy of the game are out of luck. The outcry and the refund controversy have gotten so widespread that Amazon has removed Sim City from their online store. At the time of writing the game has 1,072 one star reviews on Amazon. If you have been following the franchise you would know that The Show has been the best selling and most polished sports game for years now. Edging out their competitor 2K Sports and proving that The Show is far superior. This year, The Show is coming back with quite a few improvements and additions. Grand Theft Auto V Pushed Out Of Spring

Rockstar has announced the release date for their crime epic Grand Theft Auto V. Unfortunately it's releasing later than originally expected. Rockstar has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto V will be released on September 17th for Xbox 360 and PS3. Originally Rockstar had it slated for sometime in spring. This may come as a disappointment to those looking forward to the game but I rather have them take their time instead of releasing a broken game with a boatload of patches. Sony's New Patent Could Put An End To Used Games

Used games have been a sore spot with game companies for a long time now. For most gamers used games are a great way to save money or play a game that they may have missed. However If Sony has anything to say about it this trend may be coming to an end soon. Sony has filed a patent for a new technology that will block used games from being played on Sony's consoles. The new system works by reading a tag embedded on the game disk and then linking to the player ID and the user’s console. After the tag has been linked to the first console that the game was played on any future attempt to play the game on another user’s console will not work. Read More...

The long running wrestling series from THQ is back again with WWE 13. The game features some an updated roster with and a bunch of improvements. Let's start off with the negative points. Hated: There is not much I hated about WWE 13. There were only a few issues that I had with the game. Let's start off with the new single player mode Attitude Mode. Attitude mode lets you relive the best know period in WWE history from 1995 to 2000. The main issue that I had with this mode was the fact that it was so repetitive. Read More...

Need For Speed Most Wanted marks the second Need For Speed developed by Criterion. Most Wanted is a re-imaging of one the best received entry in the long running series. How does the new game hold up? Find out in my review. Hated: Perhaps what I hated most about Most Wanted is the fact that it just does not feel like Need For Speed anymore. Forza Horizon Demo Incoming

Microsoft has announced that a Forza Horizon demo is on its way to XBox Live next week. The demo will be available to XBox Live gold account holders on October 9th. The demo will be available to non- gold account holders at a later unspecified date. Downloading the demo will give you a custom 2013 SRT Viper GTS when the full game releases on October 23rd. So if you are on the fence about picking up Forza Horizon this is your chance to give it a test drive and secure some extra content. WWE 13 'I Quit' Match Confirmed

WWE 13 releases next month and THQ has revealed that a fan favorite match type is returning. The brutal "I Quit" match which is a submission match in which you beat down your opponent until he utters the words "I Quit" into a microphone. This mode has not been in a WWE game since the PS2 days, WWE Shut Your mouth to be exact. In WWE 13 in order to win you must approach you grounded opponent and activate the "I Quit" mini game in which the ref holds a microphone near the wrestler’s face. Medal Of Honor: Warfighter Beta Announced

If you are anticipating the release Medal Of Honor: Warfighter and play on XBox 360 you are in luck. EA and Danger Close announced that a multiplayer beta is coming exclusively to the XBox 360 in early October. Downloading the beta will not only give players an early look but will also grant players 60 minutes of double XP when the game releases on October 23. EA also announced that if 3 million people download the beta they will release a special Linkin Park music video for their song Castle Of Glass. If the 3 million download milestone is not hit the video will be released five days later. Read More...
