Firebird And VooDoo
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 9th of January 2009 - 12:58 AM ]
HP Firebird 803 tower So when I first heard about this little marvel, I was a little skeptical. It just did not look like ti would have the power behind what was claimed. I mean, look at the picture there and tell me it does not look like it is something like an E-Machine. But it packs a serious punch. I mean look at the specs below. Those are the ones for the $1800 version. Read More...

Killzone 2 at CES 2009
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 9th of January 2009 - 12:04 AM ]
Killzone 2 at CES 2009 Killzone 2 at CES 2009 So while palling around the Sony booth at this years CES, I stumbled upon the area where they had Killzone 2 set up. The display there was not all that stand out, but it was a great find to come across. While there, I figured I would take in some of the cinematics of the game. That was until I bumped into Kyle Shubel, Managing Producer for Killzone, and he offered up a taste of the game. So being me, I walked away with my head hung low startled that someone talked to me. [PS3 Review] Mirror's Edge
by Michael Camacho [ Thursday, 13th of November 2008 - 11:23 PM ]
Mirror’s Edge, developed by DICE and utilizing the Unreal 3 Engine along with a dynamic lighting engine in Beast, is set in what seems to be a beautiful and utopian city. But all is not what it seems, and the city is actually heavily controlled and monitored by a totalitarian regime. To evade the watchful eye of Big Brother, runners are employed to relay information. This is where the main character, Faith, comes into the story. After her parents were killed by the government for actively protesting against the regime, she grew up on the streets. Read More...

Really Feel The Game
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 2nd of October 2008 - 03:56 PM ]
3rd Space Vest to Support World of Warcraft I have no clue how I missed this before. For that I apologize. But this just popped up and I thought I'd pass it along. Not to mention file under Fucking Awesome. What is this? It is a vest that replicates force effects from games and translates it into something you actually feel while playing your favorite game. What kind of things? Well, environmental effects, punches, jabs, gun shots and other in-game dynamics. Read More...

Something Familiar At Blizzcon
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 30th of September 2008 - 11:03 AM ]
DirectTV's new host for Blizzcon 08! - Becky 'Aktrez' Young! If you were not able to snag up a Blizzcon ticket in the first go around, you were most likely sad. Then there came the second boost of tickets that flooded the market and got snagged up in mere minutes. So I bet you were sad again. Then Blizzard responded with, "Well if you can't be there in person, then we will televise it for you, for a small fee." So then you could be a bit happier. But then they just announced something that should make this site a bit happier about that. Read More...

Google (not) to buy Valve.
by Andy [ Wednesday, 17th of September 2008 - 12:45 PM ]
Update: Accoring to MTV Multiplayer, Doug Lombardi says it's a "complete fabrication"Yesterday at the GDC, our very own Clov3r got the chance to talk with the developers over at the Valve booth and got confirmation that it is infact a fabrication. The Valve developers joked around with the idea that someone could say such a thing, not seeming to mind the idea much and was "the talk of the office" yesterday morning- - - Original article:In a very interesting turn of events, it seems that Google is looking at Valve. Why you may ask? It really is quite simple, Valve has an amazing Content Distribution System, aka Steam. Read More...

A Guild In Real Life
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 16th of September 2008 - 05:50 PM ]
Cast Of The Guild At Blizzcon So by now you should know about The Guild. If not, you either need to get learned and PWNed for being here without knowing them or watch the show. Either way will work. But in any instance, for those of you lucky enough to have got your tickets to Blizzcon this year but not lucky enough to have picked up their DVD at Comicon, or be lucky in both aspects, you will be able to meet up with them at Blizzcon. Pick up the DVD and meet and greet with the cast. You lucky sons of bitches. Read More...

X-Blades Hands On @ PAX '08
by Michael Camacho [ Thursday, 4th of September 2008 - 05:38 PM ]
South Peak Interactive was on hand promoting the upcoming hack & slash game, entitled X-Blades.  It’s developed by Gaijin Entertainment & TopWare Interactive, and features a scantily clad main character, named Ayumi.  The basic premise of the game is a button masher with an attractive female protagonist.  I had been looking forward to this game for a long time, so I will share my impressions of the game with you.   It was a very easy game to pick up and just jumping in and having fun killing the monsters. Left 4 Dead Hands On
by Andy [ Wednesday, 3rd of September 2008 - 07:48 PM ]
Many great new games are coming out this upcoming holiday season and fortunately for me, I had a chance to play some at this year's Penny Arcade Expo (PAX). One of the must talked about games, Left 4 Dead (L4D), was available to play at Valve's booth. Throughout the whole convention, the L4D booth was packed to the gills with people eager to kill some zombies. You may hate me after I say this, but I got to play it 2 hours in advance of the general public. But don't hate me too much as I wouldn't have been able to play it otherwise. Read More...

Saints Row 2 Hands On @ PAX '08
by Michael Camacho [ Tuesday, 2nd of September 2008 - 09:37 AM ]
After playing the first Saints Row for more hours than I can possibly count, I’ve been extremely excited since the announcement of Saints Row 2 coming in 2008.  After one delay, which has pushed the game back to October 14 2008, I about lost my mind.  But I would not have to wait that long to at least get a test run, and this is where PAX 2008 comes into play.    After a short five minute play through during the media time on Friday, I knew I had to get back and play the full first mission of Saints Row. Sunday, I got to finally get a full session in and take in the experience of Saints Row 2. Read More...

BlizzCon Sold Out in Minutes.
by Robert [ Wednesday, 13th of August 2008 - 02:38 PM ]
BlizzCon tickets sold out in minutes after Blizzard was finally able to put them up for sale. Later in the day Blizzard put a small reserve of tickets up for sale which were also sold out immediately (and I mean immediately). I would have loved to go to BlizzCon but the expenses are pretty high. $100 per ticket, plane ticket costs, hotel, goodies, etc... it would have been quite the piggy bank eater.   I know a lot of my friends didn't get tickets who were all looking forward to going, but alias they seem to begoing to LA still to get drunk and hang out with long-time guildies. Sum Up Of E3 Under 6 Minutes
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 30th of July 2008 - 04:38 PM ]
Zero Punctuation Take On E3 Since I am a man of my word and like to tell you all about things that most of you probably know about, I'll be hitting this up as they get updated as well. The quick and dirty of it, is this guy does some great reviews and rants about games today. Granted, I have only seen on review where he praise the game 100%, but it always good for a laugh and see what others think. This week's video is about how bad this year's E3 was. Boy do I agree with most of the points here. Read More...

Two Words: Man Darts
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 16th of July 2008 - 04:37 PM ]
Mad World E3 Trailer I know I talked about this game once before. It was only when there was a teaser for the game, but it looks like there is an even better trailer for the game that was shown at E3 this year. Like the title says, Man Darts! Watch the trailer and you will see what I mean. Now after this trailer, I am even more intrigued by the game. First it looks as blood, if not more, than No More Heroes. Great game. Read More...

Dead Will Be Rising On The Wii
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 16th of July 2008 - 01:14 PM ]
Dead Rising Ports To The Wii Yes, you read that right. Well at least that is what I have been able to gather from a very broken translation of the Japanese magazine Famitsu. So if you were still waffling on buying an XBox to get this game, it will be out on the Wii. Should be good news for some people who will remain nameless, but they are on this site. Hopefully it will do as well as RE4 did when it ported over as well. Go Capcom. Read More...
