Faith Is Restored With New Mirror's Edge Catalyst Gameplay
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 6th of August 2015 - 03:00 PM ]
A new gameplay trailer for Mirror's Edge Catalyst was shown off at Gamescom 2015 and it shows us all that Mirror's Edge Catalyst will be the reboot to the franchise we've wanted When I first heard that Mirror's Edge Catalyst was going to be a reboot of sorts for the franchise I was a little worried as I didn't think it needed a reboot. After my experience with it at E3 I was calmed down a little as it looked like DICE was going in the right direction even if it felt more like an expansion to the world and not a new title. After seeing what EA had to present for Mirror's Edge Catalyst during Gamescom here I think my worries are now pretty much faded away as even if it isn't going to be coined a sequel Mirror's Edge Catalyst is exactly what I was hoping for back when it was called Mirror's Edge 2. E3 2015 Hands On â Mirror's Edge Catalyst
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 22nd of June 2015 - 05:00 PM ]
While At E3 I Was Able To See Mirror's Edge Catalyst In A More Intimate Setting Than Just The Trailer. Here's My Take On It Moving into E3 Mirror's Edge Catalyst was another one of those titles that received the announcement treatment just before the expo proper and I wasn't expecting to see much more than a few gameplay demos and factoids abound. During the EA press event though it was let loose that those at E3 would be able to actually play Mirror's Edge Catalyst on the floor alongside the February 23rd, 2016 release date on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. I was lucky enough to be able to get my dirty little hands all over Mirror's Edge Catalyst to see if it lived up to the hype we all had so far as well as see if the bells and whistles for the reboot to the Mirror's Edge franchise would be the game we've been waiting for from DICE. We Are Not Getting Mirror's Edge 2 But Mirror's Edge Catalyst
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 9th of June 2015 - 03:00 PM ]
It looks like EA couldn't hold back another week as now we have Mirror's Edge Catalyst officially announced and it is not Mirror's Edge 2 If you were holding your breath for any updates on Mirror's Edge 2… please stop as you will be killing yourself as we are not getting that game. Don't fret though as we are still getting a Mirror's Edge title as EA and DICE have promised in the past but in this instance it looks like the franchise is getting rebooted in sorts. All in the way of Mirror's Edge Catalyst. That is the name of the game so you can go back to holding your breath for anything else about it. Read More...

We Could Be Seeing The Next Mirror's Edge Real Soon
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 6th of May 2015 - 01:00 PM ]
EA's financial report for the year has been made available and it lists Mirror's Edge, and other titles, within that time line Since we were first told that Mirror's Edge was getting its sequel from DICE at E3 one of the big questions has always been "when?" It's been some time for the franchise and I know I want Mirror's Edge 2 sooner rather than later as it was one of the more game changing titles I had played in quite some time. But back then there was nothing. Now after the financial reports from EA have been given out to the world we have a better time frame of early 2016 to have Mirror's Edge 2 getting a release. Have A Look At How EA DICE Is Making Star Wars Battlefront
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 20th of April 2015 - 05:00 PM ]
Fresh off the heals of the Star Wars Battlefront reveal we have our first developer diary from EA DICE Last week we had a nice little reveal of how Star Wars Battlefront is going to look in the new incarnation of the game. It was also talked about the 40-person multiplayer matches, the ability to play as Vader or the Fett-man, also a whole slew of locations, and lastly in first-person or third-person modes. All of this when Star Wars Battlefront launches on November 17th for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. All of the information we should have known if we watched everything that DICE and EA gave to us last week of course. Read More...

Rumor Mill: New Mirrorâs Edge 2 Details
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 12th of March 2014 - 01:00 PM ]
Some new Mirror’s Edge 2 rumors have surfaced online. They are unverified but lets take a look at them. So many "leaks" lately and this time we have some new leaked info for Mirror’s Edge 2. Yea, Mirror’s Edge 2. A game that many gamers, myself included, have been waiting for while EA and DICE had been coy about until last year's E3 when it was announced and they were still coy about everything. Well is would seem that someone over at Rocket Chainsaw claims to have some new insider information that they can confirm. EA and DICE obviously, like every other publisher/developer out there, do not comment on rumors and speculation. Read More...

The Last Of Us Cleaned Up Nicely At The DICE Awards
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 7th of February 2014 - 01:00 PM ]
At The 17th Annual DICE Awards Last Night (2/6/14) It Looks Like The Last Of Us Cleaned Up Nicely. The Amazing Title Racked Up 10 Awards. Last night (2/6/14) wrapped up the 17th Annual DICE Awards and it looks like there was one clear winner; The Last Of Us from Naughty Dog. It picked up almost every win that it was nominated for to boot on losing out to titles like BioShock Infinite, World Of Tanks, GTAV, and technically The Last Of Us (It had two nominations in one category). In fact those were the only three that The Last Of Us didn't pick up out of the thirteen categories it was nominated for. That is more than half of the twenty-four total categories that were up for review, if you do the basic math. Read More...

Battlefield 3 Battleblogs
by Matt Waitt [ Monday, 19th of September 2011 - 02:11 PM ]
So in my travels around the land of the internet I've come across some pretty cool stuff in regards to Battlefield 3. If you head on over to their website they've been giving some pretty sweet updates via their "BattleBlog" such as some co-op campaign and Multiplayer details. So instead of being lazy and having you run over to the website yourselves, which you should do anyways, I'm going to do my job. Now I did not know about this "BattleBlog" until a couple days ago, so hopefully I'm not too far behind. Multiplayer Goodies! Read More...

Review: Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (Single Player)
by Michael Camacho [ Thursday, 11th of March 2010 - 07:00 PM ]
"B" Squad, AKA Bad Company, is back! EA and DICE have returned with a much improved sequel with Battlefield: Bad Company 2. Hope you are ready for the next mission filled with more explosions, more destruction, and even more laughs. You return as Preston Marlowe, along with your entire squad from the first game, consisting of Terrance Sweetwater, George Haggard, and Samuel "Sarge" Redford. But before you get to play the games from the eyes of Private Marlowe, the game takes you on a trip to the past. You begin in Japan on a mission set during World War II. Read More...

In Corollary To Real Warfare
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 8th of July 2009 - 03:43 PM ]
Battlefield 1943 Launch Trailer A few things have happened in the world over the last week or two. Outside of "famous" people loosing their mortal coil. We've celebrated our freedom, US at least. We've lost some more people who give us our freedoms. We've gained a game that lets a simulate what people have gone through to give us these freedoms. That game being Battlefield 1943. Well at least console gamers have gained the game. Read More...

E3 Impressions: Battlefield Bad Company 2
by Ben Brody [ Sunday, 7th of June 2009 - 02:29 PM ]
The boys from Bad Company are back and are in even more trouble as they face off in the cold Russian winter. While the focus of the Battlefield Bad Company series is certainly on the singleplayer campaign mode, the E3 demonstration was of a gold rush-style multiplayer map.Gold rush is essentially the same as it is from the first game, a team of attackers vs a team of defenders fighting over crates gold. While it is no longer called "gold rush" (the crates no longer contain gold) the objective is the same, secure and plant explosives on 8 crates (4 series of 2) or vice versa for the defenders. The multiplayer classes have been trimmed from 5 classes to 4 (support is no longer in the game), and while I prefer more classes (my favorite game in the series, Battlefield 2, has 7 playable classes with the option to play as the commander), I understand that it makes the game more accessible to gamers new to the series.
