Ancestors Will Place Us In The Heat Of Medieval Battles
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 11th of May 2017 - 09:00 PM ]
Ancestors A new in-engine video for Ancestors has been released to show us just how the Ancestors RTS feel will go between god and unit It's going to sound odd talking about Ancestors here knowing that there are two titles coming out with that as the main title for the game. The version we are going to talk about here though is the RTS title coming from 1C and Destructive Creations for the Xbox One and PC and not the weird ancient history simulator that we've heard a little about before. This version of Ancestors will be taking us through history, but all in the vein of murdering each other in glorious battle between four different nations. All based on historically accurate battles and wars that have taken place between the Vikings, Anglo-Saxons, Germans, Slavs. Read More...

Things Seem To Be Changing For Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 21st of April 2017 - 09:00 PM ]
Ancestors It looks like Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey is no longer set to be episodic and it is going to let us dictate how our Ancestors came to be Just about two years ago we had a tease for a new game called Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey. This was the new project that Patrice Desilets (Assassin's Creed) and team over at Panache Digital Games was working on that would take us on a third-person action-adventure through the process of human evolution. All done in a form of a documentary of sorts as we watch and help guide our Ancestors through everything from the very beginning of it all to our current age. All in an episodic form that was assumed to have each major era be a different episode. Read More...

Mass Effect: Andromeda Has New Gameplay Fresh From CES 2017
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 5th of January 2017 - 08:00 PM ]
Mass Effect New gameplay for Mass Effect: Andromeda was promised out of the NVidia CES press conference and we got new Mass Effect: Andromeda gameplay now We had the promise and it was delivered as we now have some new Mass Effect: Andromeda gameplay to look at here right out of CES 2017. It does look like Bioware had originally wanted to reveal the launch date for the game at the event as the people showing off the new gameplay looked psyched to see the March 21th date on screen but we won't let that distract us from the gameplay here. That is why we are all here right not and that is what we are going to get. All Mass Effect: Andromeda and without all of the bells and whistles that usually go on at these kinds of events that EA usually puts on. Read More...

VirZOOM Gears Up To Hold The First vSports Event At CES
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 5th of January 2017 - 06:00 PM ]
CES New hardware and partnerships for VirZOOM at CES 2017 have led us to a place where the first vSports event could be held at CES this year It is a rare instance that we have something here that is about health here but seeing as gaming is getting mixed in we had to have a look at the VirZOOM during CES this year. More so when you look at it as we are getting some of the first vSporting events out here as well. That was at least one of the goals that aimed to be met with the mixture of VR, a stationary bike, and the VirZOOM system all mixed in. Read More...

CES 2016 Hands On — Oculus Rift & Oculus Touch
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 11th of January 2016 - 06:00 PM ]
Oculus While at CES 2016 I was able to play with the Oculus Rift & Oculus Touch in a more intimate setting than just a video. Here's my take on the Oculus Rift & Oculus Touch Obviously one of the big items around CES 2016 was the Oculus Rift; especially since it went up for pre-order and all of the new details cropped up just at the beginning of the show. That of course led to a whole lot of debate on if the Oculus Rift was going to be worth the $600 price tag out the door or if it was going to be another overpriced gizmo with a lot of buyer's remorse. This led me to take over the job of checking out the hardware of the Oculus Rift and Oculus Touch controllers to see if the price point made sense for where the system is now or if, like I said, it was something that could be left behind. This Week In Video Games 1/4/15 — 1/8/15
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Saturday, 9th of January 2016 - 12:00 AM ]
Video Games A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Video Games It doesn't look like we started the new year in video games out with as quite a bang as many were hoping. Rumors and delays were all over the place this week and that doesn't bode well for the rest of the year. Hells, even the announcement of the Oculus Rift's release date and price didn't go over all that well. Thankfully we had the "leaked" release date for Homefront and a good look at some stuff out of CES 2016; like Until Dawn: Rush Of Blood and a few other items yet to be talked about on the site. CES 2016 Hands On — Until Dawn: Rush Of Blood
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 8th of January 2016 - 06:00 PM ]
Rush Of Blood While At CES I Was Able To See Until Dawn: Rush Of Blood In A More Intimate Setting Than Just The Trailer. Here's My Take On Until Dawn: Rush Of Blood It was only announced a few months ago but Until Dawn: Rush Of Blood was one of the huge titles on display at CES 2016 in Sony's VR section of their booth. PlayStation didn't have a huge section this year but this Supermassive Games spin off from the main title was one of the bigger things for the PS4 and PlayStation VR here. Lines were up to an hour and a half long to play the ten minute demo of Until Dawn: Rush Of Blood and I braved it just for you so I could let you know how the game is shaping up for all of us. Flow Through History With Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 17th of July 2015 - 09:00 PM ]
Our first look at Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey even though it has been talked about for a few months now and we feel bad Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey wasn't on the radar I always feel lost and late to the game when little things like Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey falls through the cracks in the mix of other huge titles talked about and released. You most likely missed out on this as well given the fact that there wasn't more than a base concept talked about from developer Panache Digital Games. That and when not many things are fully shown or talked about Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey in a word of required visuals it slips very easily. Read More...

This Week In Video Games 1/5/15 — 1/9/15
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Saturday, 10th of January 2015 - 12:15 AM ]
A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Video Games Here we go for the end of another week in video games. While not everything here was directly for the software side of things we did have some great highlights for the hardware side and then a bit of software. I blame CES bringing us so many cool things to play our video games with. Could you imaging Resident Evil running with the Oculus Rift or Morpheus. Or maybe allow all of us who are not parkour masters to run through Dying Light and give us all a feel of the action. Read More...

The Nyko Data Bank May Be A Cheaper Storage Solution For The PS4
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 7th of January 2015 - 10:00 PM ]
The Nyko Data Bank was shown off at CES 2015 and adds an extra option to the internal storage for the PS4 in the way of 3.5" Drive If you've thought that only 500GB for your PS4 was a bit on the low side then you may want to keep your eye out for the Nyko Data Bank sometime later this year. The Nyko Data Bank, pictured below, is a nice little add-on for the PS4 that will allow you to swap out the system's hard drive for a 3.5" drive as opposed to the 2.5" that we are currently stuck with. Straight Out Of CES Comes The LyteShot Kickstarter
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 7th of January 2015 - 08:00 PM ]
LyteShot, a new gaming platform, was shown off at CES 2015 and has had its Kickstarter campaign kicked off This may be the first time you've heard of LyteShot but I've heard a few things and had the pleasure of seeing things up close and personal at CES here this week. Nothing in action outside of the below Kickstarter video for the gaming platform but if you can use your imagination, as the platform wants, then you can see how this could be the next great addition to gaming; both video and physical. If you follow along here you may get to understand and have a hand in bringing the whole thing to light. Pun intended. Read More...

The Steam Machine Breakdown As We Know It
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 17th of January 2014 - 06:02 PM ]
Here is a break down of all of the currently announced vendors for the Steam Machine. With pictures. As promised last week, here is a full break down of the Steam Machine models that were on display at CES this year. It even includes the late comer who wasn't originally mentioned in any of the promotional items that were being handed out or show on the show floor. Yea, so how do you like them apples? Now that is out of the way. Read More...

A Few Updates On PlayStation Now
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 10th of January 2014 - 05:31 PM ]
PlayStation Now was announced and we got some of the news but after getting to talk to some of the people behind the service we have a few updates. Earlier I wrote about my experiences with Sony's new PlayStation Now service that will be coming to market in the next half a year or so. I had a few reservations as well as a few other questions crop up during my writing. Being semi-responsible I decided to go and get some better clarifications and answers to expand on my experience. Here is what I learned directly from the horse's mouth at CES. Read More...

CES 2014 Hands On: PlayStation Now
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 9th of January 2014 - 05:32 PM ]
Sony unveiled PlayStation Now at this year's CES and had a little taste of it on the show floor. Here's what I discovered while giving it a whirl. In case you have missed the announcement, Sony has announced PlayStation Now as a new video game streaming service coming to the PS4, PS3, PS Vita, and Bravia TVs in the near future. Think of it along the lines of OnLive or the PC game streaming feature from GameFly but aimed at PlayStation games and at Sony products solely. That is the general gist of things but here's a bit more of a break down for you. Read More...

CES 2014 Hands On: Steam Machine
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 7th of January 2014 - 10:50 PM ]
The Steam Machine is one of the hot items at this year's CES and I was lucky enough to get all handsie with one of the units and controllers. What did I think? The Steam Machine had to be one of the top things I wanted to check out at this year's CES in Las Vegas, NV and it just happened to be the first thing to kick off my experience. To those who don't know what they are you can check out more info here so I don't have to get into the details of the device(s). For those of you who do have a clue, then read on and see what my I think. Read More...
