Add An Extra Inch To Your Wii

Announced almost a year ago and suppose to have been out by the end of last year, Nintendo has finally set the date for when the world will be able to add an extra inch to their WiiMote. That is the attachment of the WiiMotion Plus device that is suppose to give better tracking of 3D space to your Wii games. As long as developers have placed in the code for such things. But in any instance, us in the USofA can look forward to picking up the little thing on June 8th for the low cost of $19.99. Or you can wait a month and change and get the adapter and the first game to use the functionality of the adapter on July 26th. That game being Wii Sports Resort. Game and adapter being only $49.99 at that time.

Now let's think about that for a second. You can shell out 20 bones to have it a month early so you can get use to the extra weight there or you can wait and get a game with it for the price of a Wii Title. Why would anyone shell out the cash early? That doesn't make sense to me at all. Just like when they came out with the WiiPlay game that came with an extra controller for the same price as a Wii Title game. Cost wise it makes sense to wait. Unless I am in some form of bizzaro world where we have the funds to burn and fund treasure baths. Last I checked we where not in that state. At least locally here.

My final two cents on this is that unless you feel the need to be the first person you know to have this extra attachment for your Wii, wait until the game drops. It just doesn't make sense to have the item that far before you can actually use it. Unless somehow the Wii is going to have a way to update all of your current games to use WiiMotion Plus. (Joke) Just cost wise it make sense. Or I could be losing my sanity slowly to the glowing box before me. Damn you Riddler!
