Hey Star Trek nerds fans! Do you want to get in on an early version of Star Trek Online (STO)? You know you want to. What nerd fan wouldn't want to? Especially when Cryptic Studios is making it so easy for you to get in. Well easy if you are also eager to get on and play Champions Online and willing to pay for a minimum of six months of time in the game.

In a late night presser, for North America, Cryptic announced some of their package subscription deals for Champions Online. In the mix of it they also threw in a few bonuses for the game. The first and foremost being a guaranteed spot in the Closed Beta for STO. Also for those of you who are cool with supporting the game for a life time, you can shell out $200 USD and get a bonus STO in-game item. All of which, listed below for your reading pleasure.

It seems that Cryptic is doing one of two things here. Grabbing and securing a good lifecycle for Champions, or hooking up their target audience with a bunch of cool things and a good deal. Yes, you do lock yourself in for the cash of just under two year in Champions Online but any true Trekkie is okay with that for early access. It's not like Cryptic hasn't had a good track record with their MMO projects.

Although it is funny how many have jumped on the fact that it seems like they charging for Beta Access. It would be the case there if you weren't getting hooked up with all sorts of Champions stuff as well. This is just an awesome extra bonus for people who don't want to have to worry about paying a monthly fee.
