Talk About Being Effed Out
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 16th of March 2009 - 06:46 PM ]
HOUSE OF THE DEAD: OVERKILL BREAKS [AN EFFIN'] RECORD FOR THE GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS GAMER'S EDITION Now this is a feat if I say so myself. Not the getting into the Guinness World Records book, especially since there is the Gamer's Edition. That would make it kind of moot to say that a game made it in. But in this instance, it isn't just making it in, it is the reason behind getting listed in the book. It is an effing awesome reason too. Read More…

Valve Spanks "Bad" Servers
by Brian Bentley [ Saturday, 14th of March 2009 - 10:12 PM ]
Announced in the Team Fortress 2 blog, Valve has begun a process that will be de-listing servers they deem as "bad."  Using number of connections and player time on the server as the main factors in judgment, they calculated a score for each server and those servers in a certain block (my guess is a percentage), were removed from the master server listing system.  Password-protected and low-use (less than 200 connections) servers were excluded from the search and destroy mission.Once again Valve is making owning one of their software titles a treat and a vacation from released garbage put on shelves only to remove $50 or $60 from your pocket. Four Decades Of Evil
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 12th of March 2009 - 05:45 PM ]
Resident Evil Retrospective Episode 6 Just in time for the North American launch of the game comes the final part to the recap of the franchise that Game Trailers put on for us all. Leaving us with, in my opinion, one of the best recaps of a franchise I've seen in a while. Biases aside from the franchise, this 22 minute clip covers damn near everything that has ever gone on in the franchise. This whole final recap is a history, in order of events, from all of the main games and story of Resident Evil. Leading all the way back to 1966 when the founders of Umbrella found the Progenitor virus to do basics tests. Read More…

The Chronicle Continues
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 12th of March 2009 - 12:04 PM ]
Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles Announced With the 5th installment of the franchise mere hours away from the mass populace, it should really be no shock that Capcom is going to try and keep the Resident Evil steam roller going by announcing not one, not two, but three new games they plan to bring out to market before the end of the year. Looks like they want to make 2009 year of Umbrella. If only all three were actually original games. Read More…

WCG Ultimate Gamer Episode 1 Review For those who are not in the know, there is a new 'reality' show on Sci Fi that premiered last night. For those further not in the know, it is a show that pits some of the best professional and not so professional gamers in a weekly challenge based show to let them prove they are the Ultimate Gamer. It mixes in real world versions of games, paint ball for FPS, actual Car racing for racing games, real guitar for Rock Band. You get the gist. Read More…

Wii DLC for the Week of 3/9
by Brian Bentley [ Wednesday, 11th of March 2009 - 12:17 AM ]
Hey there kids, it's time for your weekly Wii wrap up.  Even though we're only being graced with one WiiWare and one Virtual Console release this week, your selection improves to help you erase the taste of Family&Friends Party Time Game Thing from last week.  As the one'n'one combination sadly becomes the standard for the Monday DLC drop, I find it interesting that even in this week's press release is referenced your growing library of games in your "refridgerator" when we have yet to receive any new information on a storage solution for the little white box. This week you get two old school games: one retro platformer from a retired mascot and one retro-styled side-scrolling shooter.  Whether it's nostalgia for the Master System or the arcades, you might have a reason to hit up the Wii Shop Channel this week. More Beat Downs
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 10th of March 2009 - 04:55 PM ]
More of UFC 96: Undisputed Not wanting to let games like Street Fighter IV take the lead in fighting games, or at least all the headlines, THQ is pumping out more of those fun commentary trailers for UFC 96 Undisputed. Quite a funny and fun little thing they have going on. But I wouldn't say it is really all that needed given how nice this game looks. Just wish they would show how the controls work for the game. They look like they may be a bit sticky from some of the movements. Read More…

X-Men Origins: Wolverine Game Trailer Just in time for the motion picture release we will see the game based on the new Marvel film. But little has been seen on this new game, pretty much about the same as the film short of trailers and such. But it would seem that is coming to an end to get gamers and those who love movie adaptations of games all pumped and rearing to drop a few dollars on Wolverine. Should it be a big surprise? Well the surprise here is that it looks really nice. Read More…

Killzone 2 Review [PS3]
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 10th of March 2009 - 02:18 PM ]
A Review of Killzone 2 For The PS3 While technically the third in the series, as it follows after the events of the first Killzone and then the PSP game Killzone: Liberation, we'll still go with it being a sequel. And like a sequel, there are some massive improvements to the game from the first. Not only graphically, but in functionality as well as storytelling aspects. Let me explain each in their own section so you can have a good idea of how each played in. The Good: The graphics of this game are stunning. Read More…
